ecu pipe goes to highest connector
-
I expect 1 side is sposed to be earthed, other side will go to ecu. if the switch is knackered it might be pulling fully to earth all the time?
-
cant you just cut the wiring loom for a module out of a breaker, then solder it in?
-
you will also need to remove the inlet support brackets
-
it basically means fitting a bottom end of a 2000cc engine whilst using your 1.8 head and ancilliaries
-
I managed to do my cheap but that was cos i did all the work. I payed £500 for complete engine conversion minus charger, then bought a charger for £300 on ebay. I managed to sell most of my 16v engine bits for about £1000! it was tuned and polished though.

changing head wont make a difference, some have different size ports but swappping the 2 over wont make a noticable difference unless they are ported
-
clit bang  8)
-
nope, injectors still in manifold but they use a stubby injector. all 16v heads interchange from 6a, 9a, abf, kr
-
henny used some kind of detergent or summink, sure he will be along soon
-
the abf has different cams aswell. Id stick the complete abf block n head in but run it on the 1.8 k-jet
-
its the plug on top of a black tower on front of gearbox, wire colours are black and black/red i think, common the switch contact wears out, only 2x 8mm bolts hold it on
-
It was actaully running lean i guess, chenged the fpr when fitting the red tops and totally cured the problem 8)
-
i remember them doing a test in a golf mag and the piper came out with most power
-
guess its the bit under the cap which adds a cam cover breather

Calling all those that have fitted a red top fuel pump
flusted replied to Paulr1980's topic in Engine Bay
standard fuel pump should be ok for upto 5 bar or more i thought? -
only if you can block the bottom pipe
-
i think he means hes replaced the valaves with pipe. Its not too much of a problem as the new matrix's are ment to be better. I dont run the valves and have 2 lengths of pipe aswell
-
take 1 plug out at a time and check theres a spark on each 1. also have a look at plug and see if its wet with fuel
-
i smeared a small ammount of chemical metal in mine, doubt it will make much difference tbh
-
just checked mine, green is - and black is + i dont have red wire either, got confused with 16v
-
shrick cam much better than piper IMO
-
theres normally red/black which is rev counter feed i think? should be green and red on a white plug and the other wires are black
-
think standard is even ok with 68mm
