Trig 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Wow, that is awesome. It's like looking at pictures of the future! What a cool place to work. Good link :)
Ronan 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Thought I'd lost those pictures forever, saw them a while back, the place is stunning.
Phil K 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Thats quite an amazing building and construction process... would love to go there for a tour 8)
G60Jet 1 Posted January 5, 2006 i wonder how much of the cost of the car is factored in for the cost of that place  nice though
Jim 2 Posted January 5, 2006 I just can't imagine that the Phaeton brings in enough money for them to have that sort of facility for it! I've seen a Mercedes McLaren SLR on the road, a Rolls Royce Phantom, endless Contentinental GT's (and now Flying Spurs) yet I have still never seen a Phaeton. I mean - are they even selling them?! Ronan 0 Posted January 5, 2006 My local dealer had one in the showroom the other day, And I think I saw one on the road. IIRC, they do do tours of that place, not sure though. Road trip? Nurburgring?
Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree 0 Posted January 5, 2006 I would kill for a workshop like that!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 5, 2006 Oh man that is one horny factory 8) I reckon you'd get a tan if you stood in the visual inspection booth too long! If VW are struggling financially, it doesn't show! Jim they don't sell many over here but they do in America I believe ;-)
dinkus 10 Posted January 5, 2006 Yeah, I saw pictures of the plant in Car magazine when it first opened a couple of years ago. I think they assemble quite a few 'dubs there, it's not just the Phaetons.
Stan 24v 0 Posted January 5, 2006 That engine is 8)

andy 0 Posted January 5, 2006 That engine really is 2 VR6s moulded together. Awesome stuff. How ever much did that factory cost I wonder?
Tom B 0 Posted January 5, 2006 Wow, that's amazing! I want a Phaeton more than ever! :D
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted January 6, 2006 You'd have a bit of a headache if one of those feces(Pheaton) landed on ya from above though it all looks very pretty and high tech! Chris
Dec 1 Posted January 6, 2006 Have to hand it to the Germans, they know how to build good cars, and fantastic factories by the looks of it  I'd be happy to LIVE somewhere like that.....never mind work there!!!
craigowl 0 Posted January 6, 2006 Good link, Dr Forinor. A Happy New Year to you and yours. Dresden - a name synonymous with total destruction and the slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians and refugees in one day by state-of-the-art aerial bombing 61 years ago. Funny people, the human race.
Jim 2 Posted January 6, 2006 Never realised there was quite so much history behind the bombing of Dresden. Fascinating if rather lengthy read at Wikipedia here.
craigowl 0 Posted January 6, 2006 JIm said: Never realised there was quite so much history behind the bombing of Dresden You bet there was! IMO, at the end of the day, the blame really lay with the, by now, suicidal, runty Austrian and failed art student with the funny moustache who had wanted to rule the world by force of arms. H8RRA 0 Posted January 6, 2006 maybe the recoup the cost on factory tour fee's :)
