  1. Thanks Scott, I’m after the whole pump. Not sure which connector you mean that’s broke - I think I would need this to connect it to my car. Fendervg- just re-read your reply - is the circuit board on the pump or is it the abs ECU that can fail to cause inlet valve fail code (I don’t think these are the same thing but correct me if I am wrong..)
  2. Thanks mate anyway and for taking the time to look. I've no idea on compatibility between pumps so prob best i stick to my part numbers.
  3. That is a bit worrying for the future! I definitely need to get my hands on a spare (or 2) and attempt to get mine refurbed then. What other options do we have with the ABS – can you get rid of it completely? I don’t know if I like that idea though.
  4. Let me know if you do and assume it was working etc? How muchos - msg me if you’d prefer :) Matt
  5. Cheers Sean that could be a cheaper option and will be my first port of call. Looking at my service history it doesn't look like the brake fluid has been consistently changed at 2 yearly intervals so that could be a driver to the problem. BBA Reman - good tip - looking at ebay there's the version that ends 117 (not 217) which i think was for the 4 cylinder versions for about £130 which isn't too horrendous. However buying a spare and getting the original re-furbed(eventually) at BBA Reman could be a good idea for a future failure. There is a new pump with my part number for £2350 which is just crazy.
  6. Hi, I'm after a working ABS pump 1H2 614 217 A for a 95 Corrado VR6. Thanks, Matt
  7. Just been out and the part number is 1H2 614 217 A Does the "A" at the end mean anything as I've seen ones with B,C D ? Cheers Matt
  8. Thanks Mat. That does seem a sensible option and at least I won’t be without the car and have the option of sending the existing off for refurb.
  9. Sorry serviced the car - not the ABS pump.
  10. Hi all, My car had it's ABS light on intermittently when I purchased it, although I didn't see it but the seller said it was on sometimes. I took the risk (sensor, fingers crossed ha) and my mechanic read and reset the codes when he serviced it. The light went out for the first drive but came back on intermittently over the last few weeks and we're now left with this last code "inlet valve front right (N99)". We think it probably needs a new ABS pump unit but thought i'd put a thread on here as we're both going to look into the best way to resolve the issue. MOT due in August so have some time :) From my limited research so far this clearly seems to be the most expensive ABS fault if I am replacing the unit, any recommendations on where to get either a refurbished one or known working one? I'm thinking initially refurbished might be better? Cheers, Matt
  11. 95 VR & 150k. No history of any engine work or the chains being done (that worries me a little but it's all quiet at the moment!). She's been serviced every year.
  12. Ditto I’m handy around the house with plumbing and basic electrics but plastering is something I just cannot do!
  13. Thanks for the offer SR_Neale but I@ve stopped fannying about with the suspension and just gone ahead and bought a B12 kit from Larkspeed. Hopefully I won't have the rear spring issues but they've said they'll sort it if I do.
  14. Resolved..... Just bought the B12 kit from Larkspeed. They'll change the rear springs if I do run into problems. I went in circles for a bit on this one. Admit I'm a bit tight so was looking for a cheaper option but I've learnt from prior mistakes that you get what you pay for.
  15. Interesting situation. I think the only viable solution is to do them both :)
  16. Very (very) nice car. I hope you get every penny: Good news for the rest of us should we ever wish to sell :) What's the ride like on eibach springs and stock dampers?
  17. Thanks, it’s un compressed off shock please. Cheers! And if they are 330mm I’ll take em and send you over some postage :)
  18. Hi, Random request – anyone got a spare OEM early year rear spring lying around they could measure the length of – I think it’s probably 330mm? A G60 spring would be perfect as I’m pretty sure they were all early Corrados. Background to the request. I have a late VR6 and in my opinion it sits too high. I want to remain OEM for originality and ride comfort and I like the height of the early Corrados and have to do some suspension work to replace the front shocks anyway. I know the VR6’s had modified front suspension which was about 15mm higher than the original cars. I’ve been googling and can see a variety of rear springs lengths available – 310mm, 330mm, 338mm and 345mm. 345mm is commonly the length of the late VR6 spring length. https://www.motor-doctor.co.uk/suspension-springs/vw/corrado/corrado-53i/1753-1-8-g60 I think 330mm was probably the length of the G60 and if I buy those for my VR6 alongside some 15mm front lower caps I should achieve an early Corrado’s ride height on my late car, thus avoiding shelling out 600 quid on a B12 kit and forgoing the nice ride quality of the original set up. Please shout if I am missing something here. Cheers, Matt
  19. Cheers edd. I think for me it’s too low and as mine is also a 95 model I fear I’ll run into the same problem. I liked your koni and 35mm set up but that’s £712 and too much for me. Ah well unless I find some early springs I’ll probably leave it be. If it wasn’t for leaky shocks I’d not be thinking about this right now.

  21. So I’ve been in conversations with Larkspeed – very helpful – about the B12 kit and I’m considering pulling the trigger – however the rear springs in their kit are the ones with Part Number 85 13 002 which reading the threads on here seem to be the ones that lower too much at the rear on some cars. They know about the problems with this kit and will replace with the 85 12 002 springs if I have problems. Apparently there isn’t any way to know if I need the revised springs until it’s fitted so has anyone got any ideas on how I can be sure as I’d rather not mess about fitting and re-fitting and I just know my wife will give it to me in the ear for “messing” about with the car, especially if it ends up costing more money and time fitting. It’s a bit of headache and I might just replace my standard shocks with Bilstein B4s and forget about it. Certainly cheaper (£220 for 4 on ebay) and one of my main criteria’s is not to move too far away from standard. It’s a shame I can’t just source some springs from an earlier VR and fit them to mine over the standard B4 shocks, by all accounts it seems the only suspension changes with the VR relate to the top spring plate at the front on later cars and spring length changes. All were “plus” wide track suspension. I’ve found references on this forum that late rear springs are 360mm uncompressed/off car where as early ones were 345mm = the circa Meh! Cheers Matt
  22. So I didn't get the chance to take the radio out at the weekend but I did notice the radio was on Mute, however i think there is a loose connection as when driving I lose signal on bumps etc. Cheers for the heads up Matt
  23. Thanks Mark. Will give this a bash today.
