  1. Looks good and good luck with the build. I fancy sticking one of these engines in a Porsche 924, but will keep my Corrado!
  2. I am interested too - who's selling here - Rob or Anna? I'd like clear headlight and fog light protectors for a 1995 car. PM me details and I'll paypal it over. Cheers, Matt
  3. Hi, So the car was in the bodyshop and my sunroof mech broke (one of the wheels on the hammer thing snapped). I purchased a working replacement, the guy that sold it lubed it up for me and it was all working when delivered to the bodyshop. Now that it has been installed in my car by the bodyshop with the lid in it's no longer retracting - it never has since installation. It will go up but not back. There's resistance stopping it going backwards. The bodyshop couldn't fix and haven't charged any labour but it's now back with me and I'd like to fix it. The headlining is all out as it needs retrimming so now is a good time to get this sorted. I have my old mech at home and it slides back and forth fine. The other thing I noticed - with the interior panel slid out of the way I can see a slither of daylight between the sunroof seal and the sunroof aperture. My seal is quite hardened - assume I just need a new seal? The gutter thing on the internal interior panel seems to capture any water and sends it down the drainage channel. Cheers Matt
  4. It’s part no ending 109 for the Vr6’s. I checked when I purchased mine.
  5. Just seen on facebook that the mk3 golf mech and Passat B3 glass roof combo would work as a replacement if anyone else is looking for options.
  6. Hi, Bought a few months ago for £595 from Larkspeed. KIt includes Bilstein B8 shocks and eibach springs. Open to Offers. Postage will be £30 or collection from Potters Bar/J24 M25. Selling because mounting costs with bodywork are turning my hand and I still have an ABS repair to do before the MOT runs out in August. Cheers, Matt
  7. My steering is heavy at low speed - I thought it was just the power steering pump that was tired. Knocking could be the bushes?
  8. Thank you for the tips! I shall duly pass this on to them. I'm slightly worried even after spending the money on a replacement I'll still end up without a working sunroof and having just spent money tidying the car up I'll have probably lost all that value with a broken sunroof!
  9. Yeah I know it's a common problem, I have managed to source one for ~200 so it sounds a good buy. I was just wondering if there was a quicker cheaper solution but guess not. It's a shame they didn't drop the original one out rather than removing the panel for painting with the mech in situ. They thought they were saving removing the headlining and keeping costs down for me but unfortunately it has now gone the other way. I'm in 2 minds about who pays, yes they broke it but it's an old car and things will break when it's being dismantled. It could have been on it's last legs for all I knew. I'll be happy and expect them to pass on the labour charges to refit it - they haven't mentioned any for this and given me the price anyway.
  10. Some more info - sounds like it's one of the little wheels on that hammer mechanism. They tried 3d printing a replacement part but it has not worked and something is dislodged further back (can't be seen as the headlining is still in place).
  11. Hi guys, Car is in for work at the bodyshop - one of the jobs was to repair a patch of rust on the sunroof - however now it's all done the roof won't retract on one side. The bodyshop tried to fabricate something to fix but failed (not sure what they are talking about as I haven't seen it in the flesh). They had to remove the roof to paint/fix it so assume something has snapped whilst it is all going back together. They are suggesting sourcing a replacement mechanism - thought i'd ask on here if there were any other tips or solutions like a refurbishment kit or something? Ahhh I was hoping to get it back as it's been gone for over a month so far :( Cheers Matt

    Newbie

    Nice example, welcome.
  13. Both options are my favourite wheels on the Corrado. The only downside of the BBS is the extra cleaning time!
  14. If you're looking at the Audi A4 have a look at the Seat Exeo which is based on the B7 shape Audi - you'll get a nice one for your budget. I have had mine since it was 6 months old - 2.0 cr170 tdi, leather, climate, xenons, bose audio, sat nav etc. The engine has been perfect - I've had it since it had 3k miles on it and now have 57k. The CR engines are much more reliable and the same as the ones found in the B8 Audi A4 vs the the old PD 2.0 engines found in the B7 Audi A4. I have the sport tech trim which is equiv to S-Line but the SE models look quite nice too (non lowered suspension and 17in alloys). Be mindful of the VW emissions fix - I have not had mine done due to the horror stories. You can get it rolled back for c£100 though.
  15. As I am now finding out. My circa £3k purchase in Jan, which looks good in the flesh and pictures has had a few mechanical bits sorted (
  16. Good luck and as you've got a 2.9 to go in you'll sort most of your problems. Nice to have a smoothed engine bay too. Your next nasty jobs sound like heater matrix and wiring behind the dash.... luckily the dash needs to come out to do the matrix (well it doesn't completely but it makes sense in your case!) There's plenty of far more knowledgeable people on here than me so do use the forum when you're at your wits end!
  17. Personally I am hoping I've got in whilst prices are low. For years I'd admired BMW E30s and to a lesser extent 911s (always non-affordable to me). These cars have rocketed in value: I remember looking at an E30 325 Sport on great condition for around £2k, those cars today are what £12k? No need to talk about how ridiculous aircooled 911s are. As for the Corrado it has the potential to be a sort after valuable classic - many are being broken for parts leaving an already rare car even rarer. It has some cool features and is great to drive. The only problem it has is no model specific heritage like he 911s, Golf Gtis etc. Give it another 5 years tho I reckon.
  18. Ohh thanks for the heads up!
  19. Hi, Cars in the bodyshop and I need a couple of replacement door seals. Preferably new/lightly used but let me know what you’ve got. Thanks Matt
  20. Very good, just like mine except half the miles and older style interior seats. Personally I like white or lighter colours on the raddo (obvs). And generally like white on cars. My parents often refer to “recession white” but they’re out of touch These guys do appear to be achieving sales though, I think it’s a tad overpriced though.
  21. Sounds very much like by 95 N VR5 - leaking front shock and ABS fault! Good luck in your quest to find parts. I sourced a pump on here and bought Billy B12 suspension kit to replace the originals. Also try the facebook groups for parts too.
  22. Red Corrado leaving Puckeridge, Herts heading towards the A10. We waved at each other :) I didn't notice many details as I was having fun on those S bends off of the roundabout....
  23. ahhh didn't realise but should have figured everything is all connected somehow. Would I be right in thinking my fuelling - i.e. pump and pressure in the system is good if default fuelling starts the engine with 1 or 2 cranks (vs 10+ when it is connected)? I have a multimeter but haven't had to learn how to use it. Now seems to be a good time to start testing sensors? Also what's the Blue sensor under the MAF? I noted the black, blue, yellow from the termostat and was thinking the one under the MAF was an air temperature sensor?
  24. Update - whilst I await my diagnostic reader to arrive I decided to in plug the air flow sensor and the car started straight away when warm. Plugged it back in and same symptoms - difficult to start. Might have struck lucky. Next question my part number is 021 906 462 - but a Bosch replacement sensor is the best part of 200 quid. Last time I replaced one of these I paid about 60 so has anybody else managed to find one for a more reasonable price? I’m assuming Bosch is the right make to go for and is what is currently on the car. Cheers, Matt
  25. I see your point mat! I do use mine quite a lot at the moment, for an old girl - 100 to 200 miles at the weekend (fast roads) and around 50 miles in the week. The warm start is pretty constant - today started up from cold on 2 or 3 starter turns. 8 miles to Sainsbury's along B roads and restart was about 10 turns. Off to nursery (less than a mile) and around 15m mins fannying about picking the kids up and again 10 cranks to start. And thanks fendervg - that clears that up for me.
