As far as I know you can only use Rallye pistons in the Rallye block due to their smaller size..

I have ARP undercut studs on my Corrado G60 which is running 9.25:1 compression ratio with no problems. The theory behind undercut studs is that they offer a higher clamping pressure when torqued up correctly, so in your case these are the ones I would go for, but it’s only going to be good as the quality of the gasket you’re using and the condition of the head and block mating surfaces.

Glad you got it all sorted in the end.

Check your alternator, mine had a rattle like yours and in my case it turned out to be the alternator... use the old "screwdriver as a stethoscope" trick to pinpoint it.
-
Just wondering where you got your lamin-x from as I'm thinking of doing mine after seeing yours.
-
Looking very nice... have you got anymore info on your Lamin-x front end

A picture paints a thousand words plus I'm not that great at explaining these things in words, but This is how I did mine except I did not use a OEM top mount rubber or bearing.
-
I also did this conversion on my early G60, all the same as you but the upper top plates I used are 357 412 319B with Meyle HD VR6 rubber top mounts and a Bilstein B12 kit which have the large 105mm dia springs and fits on the 1H0 412 341 spring plate.
-
I don't think the Bilstein B12 kit issues are unique to the VR6, I have a 1991 corrado G60 and have the B12 kit No 46-190093, the rear spring Numbers on mine are 24-015530 and I had to cut the bumpstops to stop it looking like a crop sprayer, the front numbers are 35-003878 these seem ok. I have had no real issues with the cut bumpstops just one incident with a speedbump at a local carpark with a passenger in the back, probably my fault for not slowing down enough :(

I will take the G60 ISV please

I've had mine Since 2003... Inca blue G60

porsche 4 pot brake conversion to fit 4x100
Bauhaus replied to veedub-dave's topic in Parts for Sale
You can get the discs for this at.. http://kinetixbrakes.co.uk code number TX020 there 305mm dia, as for the pads if these are front Porsche calipers then TEXTAR 23329 or equivalent will do -
Yes I'm running Porsche Boxster S 986/996 front calipers, I originally used 3mm spacers but it did look a tad close at 1mm clearance on my old school OZ Polaris wheels, I ran them like that for a few days but later changed to 5mm.
-
Those brakes will make a huge difference, I had to use 3mm spacers on my wheels just to gain minimum clearance. Will you be upgrading the rears ?
-
They are all good, and as far as I know G60 & 16v brake lines are the same up front. I have those Hel lines on my Porsche brake conversion with no issues.. but I would recommend using the rubber brake pipe holders to the strut.

If anyone’s looking to get there G60 charger rebuilt I highly recommend John Mitchell Racing (16vG60 on this forum) After my first dealing with him some 12 years ago, I decided to recently have them rebuild my charger, the work was done and finished to a very impressive high standard. I was also impressed with John and Troy's customer service and advise, there may be other re-builders out there, but he is a Corrado specialist and been in the charger rebuilding business longer than anyone else I know of.

Thought I would add some input here, last week I fitted a full Bilstein B12 kit to my 91 G60, using Meyle HD VR6 front top mounts with the correct spring plates etc and Meyle rear mount rubbers, at the moment mine sits at 335mm at the front and 330mm for the rear (measured from the wheel centre to the lip of the wheel arch) it may or may not settle down a little more, but it looks ok with 17” rims Incidentally the corrado rear bump stops that I got off the auction site where huge white things, after fitting measuring and re-fiting for a total of 3 times I ended up cutting 60mm off them to avoid sitting on the bump stops on a flat surface, the ride now is very good , it also does not ride on the bump stops and deals well with the schitt roads around here.

had my charger rebuilt to stage 4 by G-werks (thanks darren). now i was wondering during my first test drive today how long do i have to run it in for, im using a 65mm pulley and have kept the revs at 2k.
-
does anyone know if a 90 golf gti handbrake cables fit a 92 corrado g60?
-
When i removed my rear wheel (because of another rim leak) i could not see the bumpstop and the wheel has been rubbing the arch quite bad, possibly causing my tyre problem. Anyway i will replace both the rear ones plus the topmounts as well. The topmounts come as a kit of 4 pieces is this for both sides or do i have to buy 2 kits.

Hello all ive had my corrado G60 for 3 weeks now, i dont know when the charger was last done ( if ever) but there is a number engraved on the top 123-232-56. Does anyone know if this number ties up with rebuild specialist in the uk. Also my engine has a 1H prefix does this mean it had a engine change or were some of these engines fitted at the factory?
