rado20vT is working on this... http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?59007-rado20vT-s-1-8-turbo-not-for-the-purests-)/page40 maybe he will chime in with a update on this.

I had this problem with mine, turned out to be the electrical connector inside the door panel that was corroded, I remade the connection and all was well after that. There is only the one connector it has three wires going into one crimp

Back in Corrado ownership after a 23 year break !

Any place on the main chassis will do for a new earth point previding its a clean rust free area.

Good luck with your build, There does not seem many active members here with a G60 nowdays, but I'm sure you will get plenty of help. Not sure what help you need with your password unless its a login on issue here ?

Looks like you have some impressive mods going on that car

It could be a leaky exhust gasket or it could be some oil is dripping on your exhaust manifold somehere which also causes white smoke, is it still smoking when the engine is fully warmed up ?
-
I would be inclined to get the head reconditioned if its possible or source another good head as that pitting will always be a weak point for sealing effectively, but what coused it in the first place, was it sitting around without much antifreeze in the water? and whats the condition of the top of the block like? The oil in your inlet maybe caused by worn valve stem seals in which case check your valve guides for wear also.

Nicely done, looks the business

I know this thread is mainly for late the VR6, but If other people with an older Corrado including G60 16V and the early VR6 are thinking of changing the complete fuel pump assembly with sender, Remember that the early Corrado has a 12 gallon tank and the later ones have a 15 gallon tank, So a potential problem here is if you’re thinking of getting a swirl pot, sender and pump together do check if the sender is for your relevant tank capacity, otherwise you will get incorrect fuel gauge readings.

I remember that Scirocco, saw it once back in the 90s at inters, But it was a standard 1.8 20v with 4wheel drive, 300bhp was the quoted power at the time.. if I'm not mistaken it a Scirocco Storm that he converted.

No 20VG60 here, just a G60 with an extra 8v But there is a couple of people with 20V Turbos here. You’re not going to get much of a response here as most people here nowadays only speak of OEM,VR6 and part numbers.. lol Anyway not saying can’t be done but my opinion is unlikely, the G60 charger is a low pressure high flow unit and even if it’s enlarged to G65 I think it will struggle to provide enough boost to feed the cylinder head spec with a 2.1L bottom end your proposing for 350 BHP not to mention the reliability of the charger as its going to need a small pulley and spun at high RPM.

My guess is that the MK2 Golf 16v is a lot more well-known and is now cult status among those who owned one in the late 80s and early 90s and now want to re-live their memories of that time and will pay the high price. Doesn’t help that the Corrado was out of reach to the masses price wise when they came out in the UK so the uptake for this model was lower.

Thats looking good, coming together quite nicely. I was thinking of getting one of those aluminium radiators, how do you rate the build quality of it ?
-
Nice tidy install. As for your bucket of oil test... unless its specifically stated by the manufacturer.. 80 degrees means its fully open at 80 degrees, so some oil will flow when cold.
-
Also be aware that if your buying the JP pump with the swirl pot included, the pump alone may not fit your own swirl pot if that's what you intend to do.

It’s irrelevant what the Golf VR6 boys are running, as the sytec pump shown in the link produces more than 4 bar running pressure,(I believe it’s nearer 10 bar) it’s the fuel pressure reg that takes care of your fueling pressure so this pump can be used in 3 or 4 bar systems. Interestingly the JP pump that Keyo mentions.. The site says it’s suitable for Corrado G60 and VR6, The G60 is a 3 bar system so providing the nominal running pressure is rated at 4 Bar it will be ok providing your fuel sender fits but doubt it will on early cars. But if anyone wants to just replace their pump with a 4 bar one here is the sytec direct replacement.. https://www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk/fuel-pump-for-volkswagen-corrado-vr6-29-p30311-24905-p.asp
-
You can just replace the fuel pump on its own and many have done this, here’s a link to the VR6 owners club where someone has fitted just the pump... https://www.vr6oc.com/forum/forums/topic/23839-fitting-walbro-fuel-pump-in-tank/
-
Not sure if they still do it but Stealth used to do a kit to just replace the pump, ideal if your swirl pot and fuel sender is still ok
-
I think you need the VR6 slam panel for a VR6 to fit as someone mentioned above , here is a link for company a new G60 rad in stock a tad expensive but it is a quality Valeo one.. https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car-brands/spare-parts-vw/corrado-53i/1753/10203/radiator-parts.html#10107

Yes that’s the correct hose.. same as what I have used. But if anyone is going to buy some generic hose from a motor factor just make sure the spec is SAE J30 R9 for fuel injection use as this spec is designed for the increasing amount of ethanol the oil refinery's are now putting in the petrol. Also its best to avoid the use of worm drive clips if you can, the proper way is to use oem style single or double ear clamps for a tight and even clamping pressure around the hose, the ones I ended up using is the one one the right hand side.

The Corrado G60 never came with a factory installed immobiliser, your Conlog is a VW dealer installed immobiliser and the install may be different to someone else's car. The ECU 037 906 022 DP or any other G60 ECU does not contain any immobiliser and will have nothing to do with your installed immobiliser.

The rubber fuel hose your referring to has a internal dia of 7.6mm
