  1. Those brown/white wires are the sensor ground wires that end up or at least make connection at pin 6 on the G60 ecu, they may also connect to the head although I have not checked this myself, but they must make connection to pin 6. I'm sure I have a connector like that on my Corrado so it could be factory ?

  3. My G60 was a demo car from Whites of Wimbledon, still have all the original documents and other VAG booklets including the instruction manual in the original folder too.. The first few years the original owner was a dentist in Surrey until 1996 then it made its way to Chelmsford in Essex and has been in Essex ever since.
  4. if that is pin 16 on the G60 ecu connector then that wire is not used, unless you have aircon.
  5. I did see that thanks, I managed to refurb the trims today, just got to take out the old tape and clean the channels they sit in before fitting them back in before saying how successful it went,. but so far so good.
  6. Thanks, I was kind of thinking thats what I would end up doing, as you say its only slightly wider, going to have a bash at refurbing those trims over the next couple of days.
  7. Hoping someone who has done this will chime in, I'm looking for some advice on the DIY roof trim refurb, I’ve seen the youtube vid and got both of the rubber seals plus 3m tape, but what I need to know is how do you cut the outer rubber trim nice and straight over the length of the roof trim to match the end caps? can’t see cutting it freehand will look good. Thanks
  8. With regards to the clonk noise have you checked your front roll bar ? I had a past issue with a broken drop link which caused the same knocking / clonking symptoms as your having.
  9. Yes, but I just cut the hard line just past the "Mushroom" with a junior hacksaw and remake the joint, you only lose just over an inch of hard line and saves faffing about cutting the mushroom with a Dremel. As they say there's more than one way to skin a rabbit.
  10. What I normally do is cut off the original metal crimp and remove old rubber hose, then slip a brass fuel ferrule inside the rigid nylon hose which will prevent it crushing when you place your new rubber hose over the rigid hose then crimped with a stainless crimp or similar, this way ensures maximum fuel flow through the joint.
  11. Think you maybe right Keyo as I seem to remember the rotary heater control panel is higher in the late body cars so the cubby hole Hight is reduced.. or am I imagining that ?
  12. Parts needed…. Fisher C box for Corrado VDO 52mm gauges of your choice (mine were oil ones from an Audi 80.. I think) Aluminium or steel thin plate size 111mm x 77mm x 1.2mm 1mm Perspex acrylic sheet A steady hand, good vision and balls of steel. ---------------------------------------- First off strip out the Fisher C box so your left with just the outer framework and front facia ------------------------------------------- Now with your balls of steel cut just below the steel facia of your VDO gauges with a Dremel or similar tool, see pic with the arrow of where to cut ------------------------------------------------------------- Then with good eyesight CAREFULLY square off the plastic in the VDO gauge, there is a convenient ridge inside the gauge to square off to. ---------------------------------------------------- Then with a fork slide it under the needle and pull upwards but be careful and don’t lose the needle. Sorry no pic for this. --------------------------------------------------- Next place the original gauge faces on a piece of paper and scan them to your PC or Mac and use the resulting file as a guide to making the twin gauge face artwork which should be 111mm x 77mm to fit in the Fisher C box. ------------------------------------------------ Print yourself or get a graphic company to print your artwork on white signmakers vinyl and attach it to the Aluminium sheet 111mm x 77mm, (I did two in case of a cockup) Carefully drill the holes for the four screws and the two needles and if your drilling is accurate then the VDO gauges should line up and will mount perfectly, a steady hand and good eyesight is needed to put the needles back. --------------------------------------------------- Last of all get your 1mm thick perpex acrylic to make the window for the gauge housing as per photo Then just assemble all back together, a glue gun is useful for fixing the front screen and possibly fixing the facia to the framework, then your ready to install in the corrado. Job done 😎
  13. No worries Dox, but I get what you mean about panic gauges on a road car but in my case it fills a hole with something useful instead of loose change and other assorted crap.. lol
  14. Yes Mate, the Fisher C box. Take it you mean the G60 throttle body with a grafted on tps ? the photos for that disappeared during a forum update ☹️ Thanks, Actually it went a lot easier than expected. These will be staying with the car or they get sold with the car but not planning on selling car anytime soon. Yes I could have bought a set for £700 but these cost me next to nothing, the basis for these was the Fisher C cassette box which was already in the Corrado, the VDO oil gauges I had already from my old Mk2 golf which was written off and the printed gauge panel was designed and produced by myself. I will do a write up on how I did these later today.
  15. Its been a few years since I updated my thread So check out this bad boy .. My diy Corrado gauges, probably not of interest to you oem boys, but as genuine gauges are unobtanium or the price of one of your kidneys I thought do my own and to my spec. And yes these Gauges are fully functional.
  16. Stick his eBay buyers id on here Keyo so we can all block him from buying from our eBay accounts
  17. I struggled with getting my exterior triangle off a couple of weeks ago and gave up, but will now re-visit this and replace that seal thanks to this image. 🙂
  18. Ok took the interior plastic triangle off but not sign of any nut to undo for the exterior part, I take it the three tabs that are visible are holding in the exterior triangle ? or am I wrong... I don't want to be breaking anything obsolete...does anyone know how the exterior bit comes off ?

    Strut bar?

Just to add... the Eibach front strut brace will only fit the later face lift models with the "raised bonnet hump" But in my opinion strut braces on a Corrado is mainly for looks, you may feel some benefit if you do track days though.
  20. I take it you have checked / replaced the fuel filter as if that fixes the running issue you have then this will significantly add to the value/asking price of the car.
  21. Thanks for the replies gents.... I will be attempting to remove and fix this over the weekend, hopefully with no breakages 🙁 .
  22. Does anybody know how to remove the plastic triangle trim piece by the door mirror on a 91 Corrado G60 ?. I think I need to remove both interior and exterior parts as I have a small water leak which trickles down the passenger door card and over the door speaker.
  23. Check all your starter motor connections, especially the to the solenoid if you cant hear that one click when engaging the ignition key, that particular connection is very prone to corrosion.

    Fuel hose size

For a Corrado G60 I purchased 1 meter of fuel hose which will do fuel feed and return in the engine bay plus the fuel pressure sensor where most leaks occur, no idea how much for a VR6 you would need. Not sure if the std hose outside diameter is the same tbh, but measuring the Codan with a mic it comes out at 12.75mm OD. For an easier install maybe a 7.9mm internal dia hose is better but I prefer the hoses to be tighter fit which takes a little more effort at 7.3mm. Personally I have not had any problems with the hoses not being shape moulded but have heard that some people using very hot water to attempt to shape the hose before fitting, but the hose is flexible anyway. The hose clamps I use are the stainless crimp types, just need a pair of pincers and a strong hand to put them on..
