Could have cried this morning. My valver has been making funny noises for the last few days. Went to local VW specialist who told me "the big end bearings are knackard" Was advised prob better to replace 'small head block'? then mess around with a rebuild. Went to a mechanic mate to check the other guy wasn't pulling a fast un and he said exactly the same. I've got about £10 to get all the work done so want to find out the best options for rebuilding/replacing. I can't afford to go down the 1.8t or vr6 route, but was considering a 2.0 lump with 1.8 head. (Bally was talking about doing something similar, will PM him) My mate said he' happy to fit whatever, but needs to know if different head gaskets, engine mounts etc are needed if i go 2.0l option. Any help appreciated!

If your working the sun do you get 2 days off in the week? A mate at BMW works 5½ days per week (every other sun, with only mons off) I worked in retail working most weekends for 7 years before leaving for a mon-fri 9-5. Spent nearly a year sat behind a desk and hated it! Im now working mon-sat with thursdays off. You just have to be clever with holidays etc to make it work. If hours/days are the only concern id go for it!

G plate G60? Red/black lights, space saver wheel (nice mod!) on off side rear, on dual carridgeway coming into cirencester... Over 80mph with a spacesaver :shock: I drive to my bosses house in Easton, and go on to cirencester from there, pass the MOD at 8 am everyday! Will look out for you!
