intro: My members gallery thread started life as a whats it worth, when a friend was selling his G60, which had seen much better days. I bought the car, and liked the idea of keeping the thread to show it from it's very worst state: A friend has a G60 that may soon be up for sale.. Just wondered if anyone could help with opinions of values? There are definate good and bad points, Good: Full service history, 99k, recent charger rebuild, electric recaro's, electric windows, mirrors and sunroof all fully operational. Completely standard and unmolested. HPI clear. Bad: No Tax or MOT. Bodywork not in great condition, most panels are scratched. Offside front wing dented, small dent in offside 'A' pillar, lacquer peeling on sunroof, spolier not operational, BBS centre caps stolen! The car has been garaged for 6 months and could do with a new home. I think it would be a great summer project for someone looking to pick up a base car, but neither of us can work out how much it's worth!! Any help appreciated!!

my mate had this problem, oil was leaking out of the front sensor, nearly emptied the whole lot over a couple of weeks. replacement sensor cost under a tenner, puls we did an oil change at the same time to be on the safe side.

Looks like i'm a lucky boy then! I guessed that it was just a warning, but i've not had enough dealings with the police to be sure. I'm starting a new job tomorrow, which requires having a car so i was stupid to be driving as fast as i was.

Coming back from London on the M4 this evening, I may have allegedly been doing just over 100mph. I was in the middle lane as I had just overtaken a car. A police car came bombing up behind me and flashed the blues, so I slowed down ready to pull over, thinking my licence was about to expire and he turned off the lights, overtook me and kept going!?! I'm still confused, my thinking is i was just very very lucky and it was a warning, but I don't know if there's a possibility they may have video'd me or something and i am screwed? any ideas?

Ouch! I hope theres a whiplash claim (£1000 standard) in there as well! If you do get to keep it, I may know some one interested in most of the front end if the paint code is right!?

Interestingly, It is possible to claim for the difference in the market value of your car pre and post accident. (on the basis that cars are generally worth less after an accident) It is a technicality and not the easiest of things to fight for, but I have a standard letter you could adapt if you want it?!?

wanna bet! i went into the small store in bath the other day, the guy didn't acknowledge me when i went in, spent 5 minutes harrasing a more respectible looking bloke, and then approched me when i was leaving! He said i could save 10% on my next purchase... Wish i'd have known.. I'd just spent £4 on polish, could've saved 40p!

okay.. may get laughed at here, but you could do worse than a mk3 polo gt coupe. I had one before my corrado, they're not particularly quick, but you'd get change from £500 (£500 more towards fixing the rado) and they're cheap to insure. Had mine for two years and it didn't need anything more than servicing parts, so reliable too!!

There's not anything set in stone as far as i'm aware, but Mike Edwards list pretty much covers it!! I bought mine on 136k with dodgy history from 90K+. I bought the car from a friend who had loads of work done through a local garage, the head was ported and polished at 120K after the gasket blew! So head gasket and cam belt at least prob the first things to get done. Rebuild prob a good idea if fund allow. Do you have any history with the car? whats been done so far?
