  1. That's the other thing with VAG bearings - set them up correctly once and you never need to adjust, pattern ones just seem to go loose after a few hundred miles regardless.
  2. Yep - AVS sell the same rubbish as GSF etc... VAG only for Drivetrain and Suspension parts - especially on a Corrado!
  3. Yeah I'd say so although they are a lot more on the VR... the ends are certainly worth getting from VAG as the boots on pattern ones don't fit well at all and let water in... the thing with the pattern rods is that the rust like mad after 1-2 years making future adjustment difficult - you could paint them though and then add a load of grease or wax after setup. Other thing to make sure is that the pattern ones are 6 sided if you buy them, some that GSF sell only have 2 flats so you can only tighten them up properly with the steering rack or engine out!
  4. Yep - only use SKF The VW caps are reassureingly difficult to get on but obviously create a good seal, I use the scaffold that I use to get the big race in - it doesn't quite fit over / round them but as it's ally it doesn't make a mess of them either - The VW tool for this is actually just like a large pair of pliers.
  5. Not sure - will have a think, Yeah I'm sure a momo wheel fits but it's a different style boss you need
  6. I've got a new one I will sell... The kit part number is 1444444 I think it's the kit for a Mountenay Boss so you need this part but most wheels will then fit it like MOMO etc.
  7. I've got a new one I will sell... The kit part number is 1444444 I think it's the kit for a Mountenay Boss so you need this part but most wheels will then fit it like MOMO etc.
  8. I think they're just air guides - most cars don't have them... just 94 and 95 models I think without brake ducts
  9. They are 10.9 but I would just get the VW ones - if you buy ones for a late MK3 they are 1mm longer and about half the price of the corrado ones. I would think hex head would be difficult to get onto - VW use the cap head ones for a reason!
  10. They are nothing like that much - I bought a pair late last year for the same price! 074145278E - £21.25 from TPS (RRP is £24.15) I would replace both wheels at once and the tensioner itself unless in very good condition (£61) You also need to buy a new bolt for the tensioner bracket as it's one use only along with seal and cover cap (£3)
  11. DS Perfomance are the 2500's are they not? That's just what is says on the box. TBH, now I've tried a set I would use anything else... either buy standard VW or DS2500 - I don't think anything else inbetween is worth bothering with.
  12. Like I said mate - get onto GSF - the staff are well aware that the stuff they sell is rubbish and seem to be used to replacing stuff for free and giving away other parts as a form of compensation. To be fair I've had no end of free disks / pads / bearings / starter motors etc out of them becuase of stuff failing or not fitting properly. If you go there on a Saturday there are more people taking stuff back that actually buying bits
  13. If it's only been in for 6 months I wouldn't be paying for a new bearing - I'd get GSF to give you a free one and ask for a pair of brembo discs too for the hassle. You could just change the bearing for now without the races as it's these that seem to disintegrate (the GSF ones) but change them for genuine asap. Tools needed - socket for one side and a bit of scaffold for the other fits nicely
  14. Should be £25 +vat from VW for the whole pump Exchange - you just pay a surcharge which you get back when you return the old one. As above, on a G60 I'd fit nothing but genuine.
  15. Ah ok so the Mechs are different but the Passat ones seems more 'MK3' and hopefully more reliable than the original... See I read that about the glass being more curved Kev but the MK3 I looked at the other day had the same part number as my Passat one and the fit on mine is perfect. Are you running a moon roof now? - if not you'll have to have a look at mine down the pub tomorrow.
  16. You just need the standard ones for your car which are the later 'VR6' type - make sure you buy genuine VW ones as these seem to be the only ones that last!
  17. Yeah - I know the glass is the same on the moonroof versions as the passatt so I guess you could fit a Corrado panel to a MK3 mech but not sure if anyones tried...
  18. Mate - it's sat at a VW dealer... just take a step back and pay your mate the master tech to sort it and get it thru the MOT - you've done so much it would be pointless to stop now!
  19. Sorry but that's rubbish - the Front bush is 357407182 - around £5 from VW Although I would brand new wishbones maybe a better idea considering age etc.
  20. Yeah just one fuse for all 3 - number 10 I think. Does the horn work? - just the plugs are the same 2 pin and can get mixed up.
  21. Have you checked the wire is connected further up? It goes thru a grommet behind the headlight then there is a plug - plug should be the same colour both sides. If it is plugged in them you need to check for 12V at that point then start tracing further back.
  22. Platinum replaces Gold and PD Diesel - maybe a bit too thin for most of us! Synta (Silver) is £9.95 from TPS
  23. Usually 21 but they move about depending on year - check them all!
  24. Deffo worth the extra - you are talking 10 years rather than 2 plus the labour etc.
