If it's never been off then you will need to heat it slightly to break the sealant, early cars are especially well bonded! £400 for a wing Yan!?! - they used to be £150!
-
Yep - that's correct for 4 stud / base suspension and will have a radius seat.
-
Yep, will be a fuse - they change depending on year so just check them all.
-
Yep, that was more like it - few crashes and a few good overtakes... Made even better by SniffPetrol's 'twitter' comentary - or Twattery as he calls it  "Every time Hamilton makes an error it's becuase he's momentarily remembered a Pussycat Doll's BOOBS. Which he has seen. Fact!"

Although normal spline sockets on an extension work fine, Laser do a long version which is useful - GSF keep it on the shelf.

VW? Or maybe a MK3 Golf in the scrap yard?
-
Fuses? Yep - 3amp fuse on the earth wire... This is why I bang on about always buying new switches rather than second hand, late switches last about 5 years max. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=31462

£2 from VW... Good call David, didn't think of that - hopefully no oil has been poured!
-
No - shouldn't be mega tight either though...
-
Really sorry to hear this - from the description it sounds like headlight switch failure that a few of us have had now where 12V is sent down the small earth lead on the loom.

Your original steel lines have lasted 15 years - there is no way you'll get that out of copper... Copper is easy to work with, cheap and good for repairs but after 3-5 years can get quite manky and union nuts often get seized and take the line with them as they are so soft. Kunifer is a decent compromise but nothing beats the original coated steel - can still loook like new on 10 year old cars if looked after!
-
Yeah - £150 is reasonable as an all in price... I would try and get them to buy a Cohline kit though, as mentioned above - will last far longer than copper and Kunifer as is very similar to the original green coated steel. Slightly more expensive but will save on labour time, I reckon this could be fitted in around 1-2 hours on an ABS car with a ramp and decent bending tool. http://www.cohline.de/index.php?lang=en

Blimey - lucky escape! There is a german firm (can't remember the name) that does OEM style coated steel hoses all made up to the correct lengths like VW used to do and much better than the Automec ones. Best thing to do is change the lot, hoses and brake compensator as it will keep the labour cost down.

No seperatly....

Did you say burger?

should there be a sepparate washer bottle for the rear???
Supercharged replied to krnau's topic in Exterior
Early MK2's used a rear bottle that would maybe fit - you'd have to run wiring to it though... -
Hi - lots I'm afraid.... 5 hours plus? All the upper trim needs to come out to remove the headlining, to do this carefully you are looking at a few hours plus then the cable change itself... Apart from the trim, a complete sunroof swap is fairly easy - Have you thought about getting a moonroof from a passat and just swapping it over? Once you can see it it's 10x 10mm bolt, 4 drain tubes and an electrical connection that need to be disconnected.

Accidently shorted out stereo supply - can't find fuse
Supercharged replied to timmaaah's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Fuse at back of stereo itself? -
May well be a cooant temp sensor fault but a diagnostic check should be the first port of call

John, go and see Neil at Ips Audi - 3A0867201H - FOAM MEMBRANE AKL43401925 - DOUBLE SIDED TAPE They appear to have replaced the sealant with tape - I will see if the part number off the stuff I have still exists....
-
Door embrane sealant I guess - TPS had it in stock when I asked for it, was about £8 I think

The key code is on a black tag with the spare key - check your folder even if you don't think you have it. Did you not have a spare key at all?? - previous owner?
-
Yeah - tough job i'm afraid, broken cable means a new reg - currently £265 from VW.
