  1. Have you tried calling them? - Andrew is pretty good but sometimes a bit slow on the email replys.
  2. Yeah pics would be good... I know you can't fit Powerflex bushes to GSF wishbones as they move around too much but you would think the bush on yours would keep it in place.
  3. Yeah, I think the issues with LEDs is the light is very directional with most having a 15 degree viewing angle... JMC - any chance you have a list of part numbers used for the switch LEDs??? Did you also say the late windows switches were not 12V?
  4. It just flashes the indicators 3 times automatically when just just press and not switch the lever - Like the New Golfs / Sciroccos etc Fairly sure the retro kit would work on a Corrado but not sure if anyone has tried yet?

VW use a Radius set - just get new ones from VW - £2 ish each.
  6. Hi Chris - well that 2005 thread was actually stickied and I will leave it for now like that.
  7. Wishbones the same and I'd say its most likely to be the crap quality GSF wishbones... Your best to take the old WB if you still have it and fit new VAG bushes to it - maybe use the TT solid rear bush. The other thing it could be is some people have reported seeing the MK2 type sleeve being fitted on early Corrado's or your Subframe has been changed at some point for a Golf one?
  8. Guys, cheers for posting this up as I have been meaning to do this for a while... will make this a Sticky Few questions - I did this mod a few years ago on both cars and like Henny used a blade holder and I'm fairly sure I fitted a 3 or 5 amp fuse... Is this fuse rating low enough?? I think the lowest blade you can get is a 1 amp but I will go to Maplins at lunch and have a look... I think I will also go down the LED route too as my headlight switch is getting noticably hotter since removing the Trimsport loom I was using. Another thing I'd say is use a good quality fuse - I recently had a dead short on one of the centre console lighting wires and nearly set the car on fire - when I looked in the fuse box I found the 15A fuse had just melted the casing so looked bigger than the other ones but still had continuity! Fitted a VW one in there are re-shorted the wire whist repairing and it blew straight away as it should. I'm fairly sure the above fuse came out of a box of 'Rolson' ones I had bought a few years ago (these are sold in Halfords / Maplins etc) so won't be using these anymore! Anyone got the LED part numbers?? Probably best to fit 12V ones with the resister built in - Maplin also do these in various colours.
  9. This was discussed a few days ago... VAG do a retrofit kit for old cars
  10. Jim, I have Eurocarparts racks on both of mine, been on there for years and have been fine... You need to sort the column play out first though I'd say mate, you might find that also improves the weight. also what front tyre pressure are you running?
  11. Fairly sure it's a straight swap if you have the loom too. What you could also look at is swapping the plugs over at the switch end using the pin tool and just match the layout of the later loom.
  12. VW stuff is often cheaper than Halfords I thought - as you say colour match is always perfect too.
  13. Are you still running the Digi ECU mate? - if so it looks very like the Map sensor as above as they only work to 1 Barr. You need to get hold of an ECU from a Rallye - 1.5 Barr Map sensor.
  14. [*] Doesn't forum member 'Pat McCrotch' work in Audi/VW Ipswish branch  He was great with me when it came to buying my Storm. So there, one good seed in every rotten apple eh  Neil works for Ipswich Audi - who deliver great service and customer care.... he's bought several new cars from VW Wolsey and has had issues with them himself despite being an employee of the same group.
  15. lol - doesn't suprise me... they really are useless that place but then you have TPS next door who offer some of the best service going, absolutly superb and most garages don't even bother with the likes of GSF or Euro now. Ipswich Audi too, also owned by the same group who have a great reputation for service - just a shame the VW brand is being let down by bad dealers.
  16. Andy, Colchester VW and Wolsey in Ipswich are well known in East Anglia for offering some of the worst customer service going... I know several people who happily travel up to Stowmarket or Northgate in Bury to buy cars or just for servicing becuase of such bad experiences with local dealers. This is something I think lets the whole VW brand down - I appreciate dealerships need to be franchised for financial reasons but they really need to spend more time training and keeping an eye on the service these dealers provide.
  17. This sounds very much like the ECU / Map sensor dragging the timing back... what boost are you getting at that RPM?
  18. TPS and Euro should be able to supply this for around the same price as the link above... What did TPS supply - was it not correct??
  19. Yep it's 8mm ID pipe but I would just buy the proper stuff new from VW
  20. It's way cheaper from VW now if you get trade, £4 as oppossed to GSF selling the Febi stuff for £7
  21. Mobile phone interference can also cause symptoms like this..
  22. What engine is it? the Oil pumps on all Corrados are inside the sump so it must be another component - pics would help
  23. Did you fit a new reference wheel on the cam? These can go brittle and crack but maybe not come up as a fault on VAGCOM because the sensor itself is working.
  24. my car used to do this all the time. I replaced the whole starter just to be sure. Out of interest why can you not bump the VR as I did mine 5 or 6 times Yeah you need to remove the starter to replace the solenoid (very tricky in situ) so no point fitting an old starter back on IMO. You shouldn't bump a VR because of the potential to stretch the chains.
