Certainly seemed to get more attention than anything else at the ring last week... Looks an awesome machine in the flesh and real competition for the 911, the attention to detail is amazing (see the R8 logo inside the headlamp) and it looked pretty quick too! Many of the ones ordered to the UK have hit the £100k mark due to options, not difficult when you see the pricelist
-
Did you test it before you fitted??? I am sure GSF sell 'seconds' when it comes to sensors - I once went in with a multimeter and out of 10 blue sensors, 3 were open circuit, 2 were off scale and the other 5 were all different readings...

check this out, e38 member got robbed

Jim - just ring them up, they were pretty helpful when I asked about oil burning Corrado's -
Welcome to the forum... Starters are more gearbox specific ie 020, 02A etc The G60 originally came with 02A 911 023 A, E or F This now supercedes to 02A 911 023 L or TX (where X means exchange) Same starter used on several mk2 / mk3 Golfs and passats If you plan on keeping the car then it's really worth buying a new exchange unit from VAG, pattern rebuilds are just not worth the hastle...
-
High cost at dealers?? The main VR water pump is £19 exchange!
-
One set is longer but can't remember which - look on vwspares...
-
Ah ok, maybe a sheared impeller then or duff thermostat??
-
Tip - you can take the brackets off the bumper tho if needed and put these on to drive it - this is what we did to 2CC's car to get it home from the Ring...

1990 1.8 16v Starting problem, no spark and no fuel
Supercharged replied to 16vrixter's topic in Engine Bay
Yep thats the one mate - you can test it by just plugging in without fitting and turning with the end of the key... - Car out of gear tho and make sure the steering lock is off before you drive it  -
Good tip but VW have replaced this part now with a roll of foam that you cut to shape. not expensive but maybe not any better than the above...
-
 Well, someone answered so it was worth asking

Riley - this is what mine does (but only sometimes and hot and cold) I've no idea whats going on, replaced everything and cambelt has been off a few times and timing checked... also crank bolt replaced and checked, re-checked... It's as if the intermediate shaft is broken but again, sometimes it's ok... No one round here has a clue so i am going to ship it to G-werks as soon as I have worked a few things out..

Welcome to the forum! What engine is it?? I assume it's a digital (LCD) clock model so you should be able to put it into test mode and see if the speed signal works, if it does then you can try some new clocks... Maybe also worth checking the gearbox earth as the sensor may need this to work...
-
Yep - excellent book for MK2 / Karmann enthusiasts
-
Erm - should always use new bearings as these are the bits that fail... Looks like you are trying to replace the mk2 ones for mk3 / VR6?? If so you will need the top plate and threaded bush
-
Yeah red's need a bit of 'warming' I have heard... Unions are now mk5 Golf part from VW - £2 each or so....
-
Is it sitting lower at the back? - maybe the bias valve needs adjusting... New top mounts?
-
Haynes manuals are pretty awful anyways - especially the newer ones... Bentley uses info from the original VAG manuals and there are some downloads available on Er-Win
-
Only just seen this but the above is a great idea... Seems to be sorted yet but eBay is getting increasingly overun by pikeys and rip-off merchants!
-
Yeah worth getting the ignition switch - it's now a polo 6N part and you need to get it from the dealer - about £18 ( a knowb weak point on Corrado's so worth changing) You can try it just by plugging in and turning with a screwdriver to test...
