  1. Just for info the ignition switches are now a 6N polo part and it's only worth buying the VW ones, the ones GSF sell don't last at all....
  2. That pic above is the G60 Jim...
  3. Yeah - there's something about it! Jim, it's on the Power and Style book and i also have a few mag articals I think too but not on the PC... Did a quick search tho and found a good new avatar for John...
  4. Yeah = tbh I didn't like them really but i'm sitting here looking at the front of a Northelle and the badge just looks awesome...
  5. Northelle also did a 190bhp G60 conversion... The wheels ming but do you have the 4 headlight grill as well John?? Me and Jim saw some of the Northelle sword badges over in germany for sale - wish I'd got one now...
  6. Maplin Part RA19V 184c 57p
  7. How hot do these get tho Yan? just worries about the reflectors...
  8. Ooohh... http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/181
  9. So that means 60% water then... :) No ice please...
  10. Fairly sure it's 12mm but wait for someone to confirm...
  11. H4 for the headlight and H3 for the main beam... Also check the glass lenses for pitting - this will stop the light getting thru and projecting easily and are cheap to replace - less than £20 each... Also check the reflectors, if they are corroded (or damaged from high wattage bulbs) then they will fail an MOT eventually anyway and are not available seperatly (ie you have to buy new lights)
  12. PhatVR6 is your man for this... I think he used 928 calipers but wait for him to confirm...
  13. Very helpful Tom...  Best place for a new one is GPC - roughly £50 depending on early or late Second hand ones don't come up much simply because they break... You can get lenses from the states that will fit - have a search about this...
  14. Hehe - I'll look on ETKA when I get home...
  15. It's a bin part mate (ie they keep them on the shelf)
  16. MoonlightBlueVR6, they have also superceded the cap with a new sort and made them blue rather than black for easy identification, if yours is black the the pressure relief valve maybe playing up (or will do at some point) so best to get a new one - less than a fiver from VW
  17. Just use what VW recomend - NOT champion!
  18. Thats happened to me too and it's bl00dy dangerous - there really should be better instructions supplied with these looms so people understand the consequences, the one I have cost me over £50 and it's been nothing but trouble... David - cheers, thats the sort of thing i'm looking for but i'm still after a more OE solution, the plugs are the oother problem, they should be water tight and spade ends are just not good enough for critical stuff like head lights... I've ordered the VAG connectors but not sure if I can get the male 4 pin connector too (the one on the headlight itself..)
  19. On both my cars I seem to have alot of issues with the uprated looms that are fitted either with the fuses going rusty or relays getting damp and eventually rusting and sticking on/off... I've tried different makes of relays and they all seem to be as bad as each other, does anyone know a supplier of decent water tight relays or maybe a mounting plate for 2-4 of then in a sealed box?
  20. 11p!! - they should be about £55!
  21. Yeah but you'd have to be really fussy to notice it and I reckon it will almost go completly once they are slightly worn and filled up with a bit of dust... Just emailed my mate to find out where his Golf is and i'll go and have a look...
