I think the main problem their is the mixture of vehicles that can go on at once - motorbikes, cars, supercars, buses, lorrys, campers etc - it's mad...
-
GPC will sell any of the above alot cheaper than that (especially if you get them to bring it to a show) and it makes it even more worth it on big orders where your splitting the postage between several parts.
-
PM replied to but basically £50 a caliper (new) and £21 for pair or hoses at a show but that was 2 years ago...
-
Late VR suspension was always stupidly high - just look at any standard Storms at shows...
-
You can but you need to use a virtual screen res and scroll about or use an external display as long as your graphics card supports the res.
-
Yep - and the mk4 setuop and hoses should hopefully be cheap at Inters...

I've got the long threaded extension that i can post today if needed - just PM me

Yeah he got a new shroud (about £15) and it's alot more solid than the adjustable one (which was also brand new a couple of years ago) I think i'll be doing this soon to my TDI as i'm sure it's the 200k old column or UJ that is causing some strangeness... There is absolutly no play at all in Kevs - ie you touch the wheel and the road wheel moves, this can be seen with the steering lock on - on my tdi I don't get any road wheel movement at all with the lock engaged!!
-
The later cars have the mk3 loom which includes the roof in the full closure circiut (so you can close it from the door handle switches)
-
It will be the caliper - very common problem on mk2/3 based cars...
-
The 'Corrado' ones are fitted for later models but i'm sure they are a straight swap...
-
If your doing the G60 front on the ground then taking the oil filter off helps with space - ie do an oil change at the same time...

g60 vs vr6 (covered b4 but looking 4 thread)
Supercharged replied to Astrasteve's topic in General Car Chat
There will hardly be anything in it, a good G60 with a G-werks full blend and SNS chip would have the edge on a VR I reckon... -
I've no idea how PAS fluid could make it inside the car... think that must be a co-incidence... I would top up the res with the correct green fluid and look for leaks... Running with the belt off - more likely to do you some harm i'd say, especially when the fluid is cold, you'll build up your muscles fairly quickly!

ZippyVR6, check if the pads are shiney... sand them down if so as they won't fix themselves... If so they may be a harder compound that takes longer to bed in...
-
Clean the Idle valve with carb/injector cleaner MAF - hover your mouse over the word and all will be revealed
-
Front or back? - both sides? - If unsure then go for a drive and see if one wheel is significantly hotter than the rest... this will show you if one of the calipers is binding - If it does in on every wheel rotation then it could be a warped disc or wheel bearing. - Could be sticky calipers, especially the rear with the mk2/3 handbrake mech, also worth a fluid change if not done recently The most common causes are however - - Traffic film / general dirt on the brakes - Pads that are too hard a compound or not bedded in properly... (shiney surface) Shiney pads usually squeek when turning for some reason, if you suspect this then take them off and sand them down slightly and then bed in again... If it does it again then change the pads (I had a faulty set of mintex once which did this every 500 miles - they went back to the factory and were tested and found the compound was bad)
-
Nice one Chris - I knew you'd be back
-
What is it actually doing?? - Is it turning at all, do you here a click when you turn the switch? Vauxhall starter solenoids usually play up in hot weather, if you are not getting anything at all try belting the solenoid with a big bar to free it up...
-
Yep - make sure you don't spin it for long tho...
-
What car is it? on the G60 you need to unplug the BTS after starting to set it up... To move the mark round stick the car in gear and pull it fwd to move the engine round to tdc

mwatson, Welcome to the forum! Edition 38 is THE show to come over for (early september)
-
Replace with a NEW one yeah - the originals are stretch bolts!
-
Erm - thats exactly where it should be when cold, it should reach the max mark when hot
