  1. Hello! - was just about to email you actually (been meaning to write a long email for a while!) It's superb mate, I had a few things to do (replace) to get it thru the MOT but it's going really well... VAG COM'd it yesterday, no faults apart from the ones you showed me (abs/air bags etc) but I was trying to turn the variable servicing off as i'm just changing oil every 5k's - maybe don't need VAG Com for this? Took your DAB antenna off yesterday, will send it up unless you fancy coming to the Rolling Road day at Stealth on the 27Th (see events forum)? Also still want the trim and Bentley if you still have it... I'll be in touch shortly!
  2. Get the Bentley manual - about £50 from Amazon.ca
  3. Yeah, give the hole a sand and maybe use some copper grease to get the new one it place...

  7. What is a bit stange is I put the reg into the RAC website earlier to see if the car was still on the road and it comes up as a 1989 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus... lol I guess as a pre-production car it was destroyed!
  8. ah right, was going to do that next, lol! I found you can print from ETKA to a pdf fil using pdf factory that is quite useful!
  9. Hehe - i was sort of working on it live! lol
  10. The information from this thread is now in a Wiki article, so I've locked and un-stickied this thread ================== The genuine part is produced from a 9-digit number group The first number group designates in general the type and model, except for part numbers for engines, gearboxes, alternators, starters, as well as the ignition system which are only related to one assembly. The first number of the middle number group designates the main group, the next two numbers the sub-group. the last number group is the actual part number. Revisions to a genuine part are identified by one or two letters in the 10th and 11th positions of the genuine part nember. The colour code is denoted by 3 numbers or a combination of numbers and letters. The standard exterior paints are listed according to installation periods in the colour combination tables. The individual upholstery combinations with their combination codes and colour details for wheel discs and rims etc. are shown under this. The installation period with monthly and yearly figures is given in the 'genuine part no.' column in front of the colour designation. The combination number - preceded by a dash - is shown after the colour designation. this combination number indicates which part is supplied for a particular upholstery combination. Designations such as front - rear - left - right are determined from the driving seat looking forwards. if a part is available in left and right-hand versions, the odd final digit usually designates the left-hand part and the following item with an even final digit the right-hand one.
  11. Yeah, another simple but effective tip is to put the heater on full to help get rid of the engine temps...
  12. Yeah - thats just a broshure picture for the Storm  lol - Me and Jim were talking about this over in germany, I think it started looking at a Mk2 Golf Country and imagining what a C would look like on the same drivetrain...

lol - Thats the sort of thing people usually say after changing the suspension, anti-roll bars and all the bushes!!!
  14. Yeah - I got one of those 'old skool'!
  15. Easily with a ported charger/chip and pulley - you know how light they are!!!
  16. New Lights are £100 each (early or late), Inpro's are about £250 a pair I think...
  17. Yay - another person that washes car parts in a dishwasher, lol! Yep, looks like too high wattage bulbs have been used at somepoint and knackered the reflector, unfortunatly this is the only part of the light unit not available on its own...
  18. Yeah, just to confirm the early stuff is obselete... This is the dealer showing his lack of ETKA knowledge as the only bonnet on the system is the late one as it can be a direct replacement for the early one, however, in the notes below is states 'please us bonnet foam...' - look up that part and it is obviously the later foam and the part number has a revision 'A' at the end, look up that part without the A and it tells you it's obselete...
  19. Yep, sounds a bit on the expensive side!!!!
