  1. Louie Lungbubble, didn't I tell him that a week ago
  2. Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree, check the GB section out for the Metal Lead tool
  3. Yan, they're the longlife ones, you can get the normal ones for about £3 each
  4. Yeah - was just thinking about the ECU, as Kev says check it and check the plug for signs of corrosion - squirt of contact cleaner or WD40 won't hurt... Could also be the ABS relays but really need the fault codes first...
  5. VW sell plugs on there own, as does http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk
  6. Supercharged

    Power run :)

Shorter belt for a smaller pulley, also check the state of the tensioning strut.
  7. FiskoVR6, Welcome to the forum... You realy need VAG COM to diagnose the fault (similar to the dealers diagnostic tool) Who told you that it maybe a faulty pump and how did they come to that conclusion?? If a wheel sensor is suspect you can read the resistance across the sensors to comapre and show up one that is suspect - have a search on here for info..
  8. Hmm - what are they and how long have they been on there?? This is one of the main problems with coilovers, seizing up, last week when my car was being MOT'd I sprayed the threads clean with WD40 and then coating in white grease to prevent corrosion over the winter... I'd leave them to soak with WD40, or PlusGAS if yu have any and try again tomorrow... Your adjustment procedure sounds correct - are you using the tools that came with the kit?? Just wondering if you need to take the tension out of the springs?
  9. All G60's i've driven are notchy and all late 16v's, 8v's and VR's have been very smooth altho some more than others... Infact, the only G60 I've driven where I liked the shift was one that was a cat C write off that had been rebuilt using alot of front end parts from a VR (not exactly sure what tho)
  10. I've fitted one of dave16v's shortshifts but it's just made the notchy ness more noticable... All G60's are notchy and all VR's are smooth - maybe worth comparing parts on ETKA and seeing whats different...
  11. No - I'm not having this... your just blatantly making up a thread title to show off your car with 3 different types of wheelage...
  12. Have you tried simply sticking a handful of grease onto the linkage?? - made no end of difference to mine!
  13. I think i'd be going back to the exhaust fitters!!
  14. markp, Welcome to the forum... It could be the fan triggering a sensor which is setup to be too sensitive... Most alarm fitters are complete muppets - take it back to them to fix or ask them to get a proper autoelectrician to have a look, if they can't sort it then tell them to take it back out and refund you.
  15. Also check the intake air temp sender...
  16. 5.5 Ltrs total to use about one and a half botles of G12+ (2-2.5 Ltrs) after flushing with water first.
  17. Hmmm - I'd be tempted to go to an exhaust / MOT place and get them to take it off, rip out the internals and stick it back on and get the gas analyser out to check the emissions...
  18. It was meant to be pointing out that not everything read on the Internet is correct... but you know what I mean!
  19. Same story as the current TDi's - over-engineered and limited, conservative power outputs...
  20. I think it's VOSA who issue MOT's mate, not Google
  21. eBay, americans will pay much dollar for those! I just hope the 10 Hazet VR plug lead tools I ordered today aren't made of cardboard and sticky tape...
  22. Sorry, just read your description - 16V... The under car one is just a straight swap (again with new clips) but maybe worth having some 8mm fuel pipe handy incase it looks a bit worse for wear.. The intank lifter pump also just swaps over, I think you also need a new jubilee clip for this as well, the Pierburg ones GSF sell should come with a new pickup mesh but if not just clean and reuse the original... After fiting these, prime the pumps 5 times before trying to start the engine (turn the ignition to stage 2 and off again 5 times)
  23. What car and engine is it??? If it's a VR6 the pump GSF sell is for a Golf so you need to swap the sender unit over as well...
