    Yep, tell them to have a proper look and they will see you can buy practically any part of an alternator seperatly, they are just being lazy - I'll find the part number later...

    I bought some last week, they are a passat part, I will post a part number up later if needed but easy nough to find on ETKA.

    Sam, I bought one for less than £50 last year.. they may have gone up a bit but not that much!

    Failing that it's a Vauxhall mate... just shout at it and it'll probably fall off...

    Has she checked the manual?? - most cars have some sort of manual override for this and it's usually documented... Vauxhalls use electricity for CL unlike the air that we are used to....

    Me and my mate at the dealer have been trying to find the part number so we can order the splined headed bolts that holt the plastic cable managment guides on the top of a VR engine... Anyone know the number or where to find on ETKA?? (I've not had much of a look as yet but ideally want to order these today as a mate needs them for some work over the weekend)

    Yep, they're only about £55 from the dealer now but as mentioned it is posible to rebush them... I had to buy a new one as mine was so worn that the spring was rubbing on the damper and grinding the paint away so even after new bushes it wouldn't have worked properly...
