Help Part number needed vr6 spark plug tool
Supercharged replied to Not_Aircooled_or_Taxfree's topic in Engine Bay
The part number above is for the metal version, the plastic one that comes with the car is on the last page of ETKA, along with the tool kit, If they can't find that they are muppets! (I would however recomend trying to get the metal one, if VW won't order it try a local motor factors) -
Miltek Cat bypass damaging the lambda sensor!
Supercharged replied to juloesG60's topic in Engine Bay
juloesG60, Millteks customer service is pretty good, maybe worth contacting Phil Millington and seeing if you can get some of your costs recouped, maybe send him a photo or two.. -
VR6 Diagnostics Problem, AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
Supercharged replied to rixy's topic in Engine Bay
I can see why you last Sprinter article got rejected now... -
I had a problem with my chip, it was sticking too much fuel in at cold start, if I drove it straight away it would almost stall but was fine after being left for a few seconds, Darren said he'd change it for the newer one next time I was down there (It didn't effect it anymore that the first few seconds tho..) Have you got the old chip to swap back in?

is a torque wrench needed when changing steering wheel?
Supercharged replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Interior
Like RW1 says there is a torque setting but it's no problem if you don't have a wrench, torque is not crucial as the wheel sits on a spline, just to it up as tight as you can by hand with a normal size ratchet (like you do with the wheel nuts and factory brace), 24mm as Mr One states. Chris VR6nos, the nut isn't Nylock btw... -
It will fit but don't you need the late wings to match?? - plus maybe the headlights etc too... Waz , can you put a picture up?

Where did you buy them from - they should be adjusted/setup after coming into the country...

They should give you a 1 year warrantly with anything but VW give you 2, I'd see what discount you can squeeze out of your dealer! You could also try a bosch dealer (if it is a Bosch part!?!) Also - have you had the sensor out and cleaned it to see if it improves things... -
You've got it the wrong way round!! ...only kidding, Dinkus - Take note!
-
Yeah - never liked the early one until the othe day when I saw a Yellow one in Germany with an Early grill (unpainted) - looked really good but not sure why...

The fan unit is the same as mk2 Golf (unless you have A/C) but you need to swap the resistor packs over... They are about £50 from GSF so I'd try the switch first unless the fan whines anyways...

Burn his house down... ...Welcome to the forum by the way!

Yep, mine cost about £40 the pair a couple of years ago...
-
New 'Securit' screens from VW are £240 + vat, glass companys should be able to get the same screen without the VAG logo for a bit less (Make sure its a proper screen with the scuttle trim attached) Fitting should take about an hour to 90 mins altho they'll need the car for up to 4 hours as it's a bonden screen and it needs to set - never get it fitted outside!

GSF or Costco for Bosch silvers, Halfords calcium are very good also...
