Yep, they are 'rotors' and best to get new ones when changing discs as they can distort when removed - about £10 a side from VW

GSF tanks are sh1te, your lucky it's holding water! Check the wiring then get a proper one from VAG (don't by a Eurocarparts one either!)

The charger and alternator sit ontop of the charger bracket which goes directly over the water pump... The waterpump is the same as most mk2 and mk3 Golfs - the whole assembly is about £21+vat from VW

A standard halfords 22mm socket fits in fine without taking the outer pulley off...

Oil temp 60!!! - the engine is only starting to get warm at 80, that can't be right, may be a duff sender...

You'll need Calipers, Carriers, Hoses, disks and pads from a G60

Try Timpsons (the shoe repairers) - they are pretty good with alarm fobs and are fairly knowledgable, they wil either send it away or if it's old enough you may be able to replave it with a 'learning' remote which you can program from the working one (I got 2 for £50)

Sounds fine, considering the hotter weather and the fact that the car may be a bit quicker on the higher octane fuel... What are the temps on the gauge getting to - water and oil?
