Filter has probably never been changed then as VW see it as a 'lifetime' item (ie not part of the usual service schedule) - for the sake of £7 change it asap!
-
Have you taken the fuses out and cleaned/reseated them - they tend to get a bit of surface rust from being in the engine bay...
-
So, the vehicle handover didn't quite go to plan...

Glad you got it sorted and hope your pleased with it mate... I've heard exactly the same stuff about Marshalls in Ipswich (Skoda Dealer) and there is a long running debate on our intranet noticeboard at work about there total incompetence... -
Ooh, you got some new toolage Kev! - I also noticed that they've got the big socket set at £99 again.
-
The thermostat you can but it will be cheaper from the dealers where you can get the plastic as well...
-
Is it from both doors??? - may just be the wiring on one of the door handle switches, if it affects both then the pump is going, its expensive but I think its a mk2 part so you should be able to get one from a scrappy...
-
You didn't think to stop then :? I thought the Corrado 1.8 16V was bigger than the Golf one or is it just the inlet that gives the extra horses?
-
That is a lot of oil! - get those leaks fixed asap! Is it a new noise then - its not just the fuel injectors etc...
-
This is the mileage where alot of stuff wears out, I'd be looking at changing all service items inc leads etc, all belts, fluids and any worn pipes plus checking the sensors on VAG.CAM Once you know the engine is good then start thinking about replaceing all the suspension and bushes and the same with the brakes too.
-
Yeah, get the stat and also get the plastic 'flange' which bolts over it... make sure you have all the O rings also, you should have 2 in the waterpump box but best to check...
-
Well?? - what was it man!! :D
-
May be worth taking the fuelpump access cover off and check the pipes, also the ones to the filter under the car - have you cleaned behind the rubber boot round the filler neck?? - If never then do it asap!
-
Block the pipe, remove the blade and motor, rubber grommet over hole - Job done!
-
LuK are OE, better than SACHS, get it!
-
removing steering wheel to put on a momo one help please
Supercharged replied to Rollyrob's topic in Interior
Halfords sell one but the proper MOMO part number is 8014L -
Astralli are good also (used to be the Halfords supplier)
-
Unless its a US Quart which is less than a UK litre
-
Just read this, I discovered these wheels a few months ago but the supplier told me the offset was wrong for the G60 (VR6 may be ok tho..) Look a great wheel for the price tho and it sounds like you'll get them on with a bit of modding!
-
Redline MT90, 2 Quarts... should do it if the gearbox is not coming off (as you won't get the full 2 litres out) DemonTweeks see to be cheapest supplier. There is a guide for changing it in the Knowledge base I think.
-
If you want to go lower then Coilovers are best, that way if 60 is too low you can go back to 55/50 etc
-
Best to change it if not done before, get some Redline MT90 from Demon Tweeks
-
Wish me luck.....,tomorrow is D-day :(
