  1. Yep - new ones are stupidly cheap now for genuine wheels!
  2. Just phone VW and buy a Corrado one - last one I bought was £12 + vat
  3. Yeah it will be the bottle - aftermarket ones are pretty awful and can leak too New Corrado ones are very cheap from VW!
  4. Good update and great pics, wondered what had happened to this car!
  5. You can get these new from Classic Parts or VW Heritage... 2nd hand ones are often broken as they are difficult to remove without breaking clips
  6. Supercharged

    90mm splitter

You can still buy new from Classic Parts :-)
  7. Yeah - usually the switch cables running to the door handle corrode, if you remove the handle be very careful taking it out. If they have broken then just unplug and maybe insulate the socket, the handle will obviously still work but you won't be able to do full open / closure by turning the key. New handles are probably over £100 now...
  8. VW spares list fronts but not rears - give them a call as they maybe able to source some good ones!
  9. Yeah just check the cambelt has been done - if not then it's 9 years old so get it done asap!
  10. That's the BKD engine - 2.0 16V PD. What mileage is yours on? You do read about a lot of issues, especially with the early ones but it was also fitted to all sorts of cars across the VAG group so I think they are generally reliable and easy to get parts for. I suspect the ones you hear about are ones that aren't looked after although the Clutch / DMF and Turbo's are the weak points. Just make sure the oil is changed regularly for the correct stuff and don't use too much supermarket fuel or any bio diesel. Let the engine idle for a couple of minutes after a long run before turning off. Cambelt interval is 60k - don't go beyond that and make sure you use genuine parts and always change the waterpump at the same time. The Freewheel clutch pulley on the alternator is one to look out for also at the same time. Darkside Developments is a good UK tuning company - good website for parts etc too!
  11. Pics of Diavia one on this thread - looks similar... http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=58043&page=3
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Corrado-Aircon-Motor-Fan-NEW-/400220333427?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2efda573 This is the factory one but maybe yours is a Davia supplied one?
  13. That's an air con fan isn't it?
  14. Might be worth people changing the bearing sleeve part that it sits on and also the clutch fork and stop while the box is off.
  15. Also if you sit the tester on it for a while it may start to charge but often if it's comepletly dead you'll need to stick some serious amp-age through it to de-calcify.
  16. TPS is cheapest for batteries if you can get to one but otherwise Halfords as they are open the longest I think this is best for future issues as you could find a branch anywhere in the country practically if you need a warranty swap and you're away somewhere... without a trade card though it's going to cost you!
  17. Yep - on a long run though... I've calculated it manually too as the MFA under-reads slightly - reckon I could get over 65 if I stopped putting my foot to the floor when the road's clear in front of me! On average on short journeys to work and back I get around 55MPG but you have to remember most MK4 Golf TDI's will do 50 minimum and the Corrado is lighter... 6 Speed box is superb also :-)
  18. The VW stuff is the daddy but 3M and Wurth do similar... http://www.vwgroup-paintandbody.co.uk/elsaWin/LLF_general/en-GB/01_Original_Produkte/01_09_Unterbodenschutz/01_09_01_Langzeitunterbodenschutz.htm
  19. Things to look at - air leaks as you say, TB allignment, TPS, MAF and Lambda
  20. Yep - those plastic flanges seem to last around 80k then start to warp / crumble / leak
  21. Check them all mate or look in your manual... may well be in a different circuit depending on year of car
  22. 14 usually... check your reversing lights as they are on the same circuit.
