  1. Well it's not the pump then, must be a dead short somewhere... which fuse it it? unplug anything else on that circuit first to test.
  2. Part worns are never really a good idea on different cars due to camber wear - also why it's not ideal to swap tyres from front to back. T1S's are also the worst tyres I've ever experienced, scary lack of grip in the wet!!
  3. Ah nice, you found the female connector part... it's always annoyed me with looms not having this and being unreliable...
  4. That's an original one as it's painted and the new ones are cast alloy - I'm surprised it's lasted this long as most cars are 20 years old now!
  5. Worth running the diags yes and an ABS fault wouldn't cause it... Stealth would be the place to go! Could be lots of things but an air leak or fault with the TPS but ISV or MAF most likely. If you have an original airbox I would go back to that, maybe the MAF isn't reading airflow correctly from the BMC. PS - could also be a poor tank of fuel, take it you use at least 98RON?
  6. I bought one of those and it went straight in the bin, honestly pay the extra £3 and get one from VW, it will fit and last 10-12 years like the original!
  7. Anyone got one? My mates cambelt snapped in his A3 and the engine is scrap...
  8. So do any of you lot want to buy it?? maybe fit it in parallel for double blowage??
  9. Welcome to the forum... Unfortunately, I'd say there is no point putting a VR into a 16V and finding a decent VR6 lump these days is difficult - just buy a good VR6 Corrado The whole drivetrain and fuel system on the VR6 is different so you'd need to change too many parts, insurance would also be a nightmare. Fix it, sell and and buy a VR or maybe look at more modern engines - 1.4TSI would be a great replacement for a 16V!
  10. Yeah should be ok - will just have to pack well and insure them... can you PM me your address?

  18. I'm keeping them as spares mate - you should be able to get a RHD one new though for not much more than the price above... Go to a Valeo dealer (usually much cheaper than Euro / GSF) and quote 698031 which is RHD

  20. Correct David, I planned to have a go at swapping it but I have 2 new VAG RHD ones so seems a shame to potentially break this... I know there are a few on here with LHD cars but then again most will have AirCon too.
  21. Are you sure?? I can only see one p/n for each side...
  22. Have you looked on the classic parts site? They were doing new wheels for £50!
  23. This is what VAG use but I just have one of the cheap CV boot tools to crimp / do up... I'm not even sure if the tool pictured will allow you to undo / re-use - you use a torque wrench on it.
