  1. Looks like it's an issue in Panjo and not with The CF directly.

    We've narrowed it down to:

"if a user is creating a listing, previews it, clicks on "edit listing" from the preview page, and then clicks on "Post item for sale", then the tab closes instead of taking them to a success page. this results in the item posting on panjo, but no thread gets created‏"

Does that sound like it was possible, Dave (and the others who had issues)?

  2. Right, the Panjo team are looking into it.

I would like to get it all reliable so confidence is increased - I'm sorry to those who feel they're "missed out" because one of their items has not posted to the forum.

There's not a lot I can do to change those - sorry - but we're trying to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

And disregard what I said earlier in the the thread - I don't want to hide the forum parts as I realise the 'feedback' section and mobile users are both valuable functions.

I'll update this thread as I get more feedback for the Panjo techies.

  3. I'll have to talk with Panjo technical support as to why the posts are unreliable.

The 'solution' may be to hide the forums they post into and force you to use the Classifieds link...

It will have to wait until next week due to the holidays.

The only reason for leaving the forums visible were due to the old adverts still being in there and Tapatalk users. I'll see what solutions they can offer before I tell them to F off.... Haha

  4. Guys,

If think you're all getting a little confused....

There's no need to download the Panjo app, and all the actual posted adverts still appear in the forum!

If you post a car for sale via Panjo, it creates a thread in the Cars For Sale forum with all the details, pictures, etc...

Same goes for Parts, and non-Corrado Cars for Sale.

But the Classifieds link at the top gives you a 100x better view of the Classifieds, filters, search, etc.

It just looks a bit confusing because the old Cars & Parts threads are also in the same forum. These will die out eventually and I'll prune them out.

In Tapatalk - go to the Classifieds section as usual, you can still see the latest Cars For Sale, etc.

The only thing you can't do from Tapatalk is fully post a new Classified. This needs to be done in a 'normal' browser. And, honestly, if you're going to write a proper advert and post pictures - you'd want to do it that way instead on your mobile any way.

Yes, as Mr. Bacon says, this is a free resource, and the Moderators are unpaid.

The biggest hassle we have is with the Classifieds section and certain humans being complete d1cks.

One of the biggest advantages of Panjo is the ESCROW system (the seller doesn't get the money until the buyer receives the goods) and the ability to use a "Buy It Now" system (meaning you don't have 2 people claiming to have bought an item at the same time) as well as clever Location information, postage options, Buyer and Seller ratings & feedback etc etc.

ALL THIS FOR FREE, I hear you cry? Yes.

Now, get on with it and stop ya' moaning, ya' old gits! Haha. Change is inevitable.

Or I'll attach the server to a 56k modem!

  5. It's an app for iPhone and Android which allows you to access forums in a more mobile friendly way.

Harder to control user's view and administer though. It's also quite a security risk so I have to keep on top of updates else access to the forum can become compromised.

But I do this for you guys. Cos I'm nice like that. And occasionally ask you to click the link in my signature lol.

  6. The Classifieds is now an external system, hence the strange loading pauses, etc.

However, I tested Firefox, Chrome and IE and all worked fine without a hitch.

The reason for the file limit is quite simple.

The biggest issue people have is uploading large pictures to the forum.

PHP isn't great at uploads, and the majority of broadband upload is a LOT slower than the download speed, so users tend to forget that uploading a massive file takes 5-10 times longer than downloading it.

If you upload a large file slowly, the server is more likely to time out, then you'll blame the system... Basically, it's always my fault.

So, upload file limit enforced, and stop taking 20 megapixel photos of your headlights ;)

  7. Trying to find the source of the Tapatalk error. Seems a lot of forums have this after a quick Google. No obvious fix yet though.

And yes, Jim, I've got that too. Think it's an Admin only thing though from the classifieds being turned on. There will be a counter somewhere in the SQL I can reset to 0 if I can find it!
