  1. Thats a great website - good find Jim
  2. I do know whether it will be at Inters this weekend but I'm not allowed to say :D
  3. Volkswagen Groups desire to build more and more cars mean that "risky" cars will never again be seen with a Volkswagen badge on them, even the Passat CC is only beiong produced because the Passat platform has now covered its costs in terms of R&D so a new model variant was fairly inexpensive to produce. Volkswagen has shown its true colours this week after stating that the MK6 Golf will be £950 per car cheaper to produce than the MK5 enabling them to show a balance sheet profit on the car from day one as opposed to the 2 years it took with the MK5 - no statement about higher quality, improved driving dynamics etc Whilst I appreciate that every manufacturer needs to produce a profit surely not every model in the portfolio of models needs to be profitabe, every manufacturer needs halo / aspirational products and the Scirocco could have been just that as opposed to a females "sporty little car to zip around town in" I'm so glad they did not revive the Corrado name
  4. Either I'm getting old or the Scirocco is poor but I'm liking the Passat CC far more than the Scirocco

Any one of the 500 could be ordered with an LSD, seem to remember about 50 were so equipped, TBH it didn't make that much difference although its a nice to have
  6. I just don't do the fancy title thing - they can call me anything they like as long as I'm earning the money. My business cards don't have a title on them, I could have chosen one of four but declined them all, I'd prefer to be judged by what I do not what my title says I do
  7. Gave mine a quick wash with my new Dodo Juice Born to be Mild shampoo (fantastic stuff as is always the case with DJ products), for the first time ever I will not be in a mad rush prior to a show weekend
  8. I'm in Hadley, Telford and travel through Bridgnort at least once per week, good to know of another Corrado locally
  9. Whereabouts in Shropshire are you?
  10. The two main industry valuation guides are Glass's and CAP. I always prefer CAP (Current Auction Prices) and an increasing number of dealers use CAP as it seems to be generally more accurate, its not uncommon to see valuations for the same car differ by as much as £1.5 - 2k on a £10 - 12k'ish car. At the end of the day both Glass's and CAP are a guide, no more, no less. It does seem as if the dealer you have been to has a stash of old guides - for future reference all copies of Glass's have the current month either on the spine or the front cover

Apart from an engine conversion there is actually very little you can do to improve(!!) a standard FRP - they are pretty hardcore in terms of overall driving experience. Whilst I sometimes got frustrated with the lack of outright power it did give me plenty of opportunity to enjoy exploring the (very high) limits of its handling capabilities. I did drive Pumabuilds FRP with Focus RS engine conversion and whilst it was massivley quick it spoilt the overall balance of the car. Keep it standard (apart from maybe a set of the Richard Parry Jones dampers - if you can find a set as only five sets were released), keep on top of the stonechips and enjoy it
  12. Used them a number of times and always received excellent service from them

Hope you carry on enjoying. I found the ride very hard but the seats, brakes and exhaust pop absolutely awesome
  14. Ask 100 people how to best prep a car before polish / waxing and you will get 100 different responses. Personally this is my approach: Jet wash to remove worst of dirt Wssh using two bucket method, dry with good quality drying towel Clay Wash again and dry Cleanse paintwork Option here to wash again Apply sealant if you wish - I use Jetseal 109 Apply polish Apply wax, layer if you wish, ideally leaving 24 hours between layers. If using a combination of hard and soft waxes remember to apply the hard stuff first Basically use common sense and you can't go far wrong. Much easier to do if you have a PC or rotary polisher In terms of products there are literally hundreds available, just look at www.detailingworld.co.uk but keep a close eye on your wallet
  15. There are 2 nuts, the bolts are attached to the mirrors. Turn the mirror through 90 degrees and you can see the bolt heads from above - should only take 5 mins once you have the door card off
  16. No punishment will ever bring those children back to their parents. Nothing more than a scumbag who deserves to rot in hell
  17. Mmm, the CLK Black Edition is awesome but at 100k just a little bit on the expensive side

Can't remember the numbers of the two I had - f its a FRP you definitely go for look carefully for corrosion on and in the rear arches. The cars were converted by Tickford and I don't think much attention was paid to the quality - plus you have the problem of interation between the steel and alloy of the panels. I'd suggest you give Pumabuild a call in Birmingham the real experts on FRPs - I bought my second one from them and would highly recommend them http://www.pumabuild.co.uk/
  20. Chris - you can buy the Dodo juice waxes from: www.elitecarcare.co. Elite provide top notch service. Dodo do both hard and soft waxes to cover every colour, plus Double Wax and Supernatural. Basically, soft waxes for instant bling but lower durability, hard waxes for a still great finish but more durability - I find two coats of hard wax followed by several layers of soft gives the best finish. As is always the case though, the secret is getting the paintwork prepped properly, only then can any wax do its job as its maker intended.
  21. Sadly I think theres more chance of discovering that Elvis is alive and well and living in Eastbourne - ultra conservative Volkswagen have not got the balls to producing anything thats remotely risky

  23. It will be a Retailer discount - Volkswagen sites are free to sell at whatever prices they choose, TPS has been comprehensively overhauled and the number of sites eligible to be TPS partners has been cut back dramatically. Just waiting to hear that we have the go ahead to put the final details together, hopefully in the next couple of weeks

Avoid the 1.4 and 1.6 versions, bog standard Ford engines that aren't great. The standard 1.7 was designed and built by Yamaha and is a great little engine. If your budget can stretch to it a Racing Puma is in a totally different league to the standard Puma but running costs are obviously higher - definite future classic though. A standard spec Puma will outhandle a standard Spec Corrado - chassis balance is superb, if ever a car could comfortably handle more power this is it.
