Neighbour has a new 1 Series 123d Coupe - black with slightly upgraded alloys and the chrome exterior trim, thought it was hideous at first but the more I walk past it the more I'm liking it - its not pretty but it has a "presence". I normally dislike BMW's and hate the 1 series - whats going on :D

The Corrado was axed due to many of the parts no longer being viable for production, namely the Golf and Passat bits that belonged to by then obsolete production models. 1995, the final year of production was actually the Corrados most successful year in terms of production. The new Scirocco probably will only have a production life of 5 years or so but that is only because the market demands (or so the manufacturers say) more frequent model changes. The Scirocco is probably looking reasonably good value when compared to the Mk5 GTi due to the development costs of most of the oily bits being written off long ago, the fact that its built in a comparatively low labour rate country and the fact that it has to be seen as being cheaper than the TT - the good old Volkswagen Group pecking order

Finished painting my bodyshell now and visited this site http://www.noro-tuning.com/ The store has been updated recently and managed to order a load of bits that will allow me to create a reasonable replica of my car - including replacing the VR6 with a proper G60 lump :D

Spent some time degreasing and cleaning the arches and underside then moved on to replacing all the tatty looking hose clips with nice, shiny stainless ones

That is stunning. Knew someone who had an RS2 that with some relatively strightforward tweaks was pushing out just shy of 400bhp, only sold it to buy one of the last RS4's and he has always regretted selling it

Looks so right its untrue - it gels together perfectly - love it :D

Hopeful of getting some good discounts, I'm sure some prices will be better than , hoping to get a very good price on oil but can't promise anything. My thoughts are to order stuff on a weekly / fortnightly basis as demand requires so that things can be kept as simple and straightforward as possible for the dealership.

Had a meeting with the Brand Manager yesterday and its definitely a goer - been put in touch with someone in the parts dept. who is keen to be the main point of contact - I'm meeting him next week to sort out a discount structure and then it will be all systems go.
