Good work Tony, whered you end up taking the supplies from?? Was it a squeeze to get in??
  2. We are talking about a 4 branch exhaust manifold here i believe... Unsure to the answer, easiest way to find out would be to have a look at them both and see if itll marry up to the exhaust ok, i reckon itll bolt straight into the head ok...
  3. Now then, they look bloody great, good work, the black works really well...
  4. You are very welcome Tom, you know the schrick, cams and BMC make sense!!! :) In all seriosness you have picked up a cracking car there mate, ok a few things need doing but it would be boring if they didnt, get amongst it and enjoy...

    Rim Leak lol!

If the inside rim is corroded or damaged then the tyre will not seat correctly, a refurb should sort it out though....
  7. OMG Tom, get the tow bar off, thats just all wrong... :)
  8. Gutted for you mate, id be foaming.. You were within your rights to phone the police, she left the scene of an accident which is an offence..
  9. Looking good, Rados should have left the factory looking like that...

    New Toy

Can't wait Goldie, just hope I can squeeze it in past the rad as mine sits a whole lot further back than standard due to the huge climatronic condensor I had to get in there last winter, I can see it being something of a challenge! Reminds me that just a year ago the Corrado was abandoned in my garage with plans of selling up and now I'm on the look out for grey recaros, planning an HID conversion and maybe 268s too. It's a bit like when I bought my first valver 12 years ago  Your condensor must be mahoosive, the one on my aircon is mounted in the same place as your but the rad still sits in its original position. To give you an idea of clearance the plastic panel that is mounted on the slam panel (with the warning stickers on) is a midgees willy away from the far right tube on the manifold.. Itll be a lot easier to fit if you remove the front end as some of the bolts are a bit tricky to get to to say the least.. Get the 268s in, they are great and im not even feeling the full benefit from them yet as it hasnt been remapped...

Nice one, your VR is about to become even more enjoyable to drive..
  12. You make it sound like a good idea Bill... :)
  13. They are both males Jon, i dont know about the brake line lengths though, they are detailed in ETKA though..
  14. I know thate one set (black centres) were bought by Mick Clemens from PVW and the silver ones went to Bill (A1VR6)..
  15. Sounds like you need to get out there and get one bought Gav.. You are right, its a disease which you know you have so you might as well get shopping...
  16. Id been led to believe its second hand only, hence the stupidly high asking prices.. Would be interesting to hear of somewhere that can supply them..
  17. Ahh come on Michael no need to call it a shed its not that bad! I didnt even notice that... :) Not that bad eh Rob :) :)
  18. BMC again here, sounds great... Ive got mine without teh cold air feed at the moment and im more than happy..
  19. Also worth a mention that the screws securing the tailgate trim only need to be turned through 90 degrees or youll chew up the plastic... A narrow socket will make the job nice and easy for remving the nuts..
  20. Its just a locating screw which corrode badly and often break.. As vr6storm has said, stick it in gear and your laughing..
  21. Just remove your existing ones and pop them in.. There are 3 10mm nuts on the corner piece light and 3 on the flat lights on the tailgate, youll need to remove the boot trim and the round rubber bungs to get to them. The bulbs will plug straight in..

    VDO Problem

Its a 0 to 10 bar sender that was supplied with the gauges from Vagparts.. The gauges read at max when nothing is connected, i did however try it last night with the leads resting on the engine block and it sat at zero as it should so it was earthed through the car.. So i connected the positive terminal up and put the negative on the engine and it behaves as expected (without starting the car) so am reckoning ive damaged the negative pin on the sender (i did use the pins as a lever when removing it) so its more than liekly the case.. Ive ordered a new one up so will give it a try and go from there when it arrives...
  23. Definitely not lumpy, still has the smooth characteristic of the 6 pot just with more grunt, it pulls really well at lower revs than before and makes a lovely noise while its doing it!! Still need to get it mapped up for the full benefits.. So far im definitely happy, were not talking an aggresive hike in power like a charger just an overall improvement in how the car drives. Id be interested to see what numbers shed be putting out..

    VDO Problem

Since fixing the oil leak on my filter housing i have been unable to get my VDO oil pressure gauge to play ball. I replaced both high and low pressure sensors succesfully and refitted the pressure sender in the t-piece and now i get: Gauge flys off the scale when disconnnected from the sender or connected either way around. Im getting continuity across the pins on the sender.. Can anyone point me in the right direction please??
  25. Another one from me.. Big thanks to Jim for the Grill, happy days...
