When i put the order in some bits they said were going to take a while so not to worry, not in a rush for them.. Let me know what you find out..

Just had a little bit of a look back through this.. This car just makes wheels work, I've got to admit i think the RCs were up there for me, work so much better on a darker car than that do on a lighter coloured one.. Whats the next plan?

What brakes do you have on? Id say silver to make them stand out but 280s may look a bit small behind the Compomotives so there is a counter argument to go black for subtlety… Or… Brembo time..

You're not joking about the cleaning, the RS will be fiddly.. The nothelles work with the colour of the car so well. The RSs work on everything, yes more widely used but very few sets left that haven't been split hence the attraction..

Goodness me.. what on earth was someone thinking there..

Tried a couple of RSs on today.. Here are some pictures and what a contrast against the Nothelles. I think the silver centres on the RS really work..Ive never been so worried about putting a wheel on a car before..

Are those Recaros in there now as well? Have a look on Ebay at some wheel nut covers (i think Skoda). They finish the wheels off nicely. I would have passed my ones on if i had oaf thought.. From memory they aren't expensive..

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm inclined to agree Graeme, the Nothelles work so well, The RS though were an opportunity not to miss...

It was the damper Jim, however when i tried another i did an ISV swap at the same time, the 2nd ISV wasn't working so didn't get any further forward until Easypops came round with another of each..

Sunday sadly wasn't according to plan. I intended to go to a shown in Preston where i would meet up with dad in his MG. Sadly the car decided it didn't fancy it so it had to be left at home, all sorted now though. Glad i made the trip even without the car as have passed on the Compomotives to Macdaddy (Steve), caught up with OSV (Gareth) and enjoyed seeing a variety of quality classics.. Was such a shame as the day before was a game of two halves. I attempted to start the car about 9 ish saturday night and this was when the problem was found, i suppose better than 6am sunday when i was ready to go.. Reason for starting the car was to fit these.. I said i would never fit a set of these, well i was kidding myself.. There are no prizes for guessing where these have come from and big thank you to Chris for giving me the chance to buy them and for meeting up in Carlisle to do the deal. They aren't mint, they are flawless, they will rarely be used and i have 3 different colour centres for them to give them a slightly different look when they do make an appearance.. Another couple of changes.. Headunit, Nakamichi gone, it needs to be amped and I've been hesitant to add anything to the boot or have a power cable running from the battery. The solution was this alpine, iPod in glovebox, inline power pack now mounted behind the glovebox, sound quality is superb for uprated speakers only… Ive also had some more coating done including wiper arms, the gruvenparts radiator neck and dave16v stainless radiator brackets..

Just to add the damper was not badly broken, the seam was slightly suspect but it hadn't exploded as such so don't just rely on a quick visual to assume its had it..

Sorted.. And it was the damper.. Sequence of events, changed original ISV and damper for a second set no change. Easypops (Martin) came round with another, no change, vagcom confirmed we were barking up the right tree. Energised each ISV, original one was fine , other 2 suspect. So i have original ISV and the third damper on. Shame to have missed the show today but relieved all is well.. Massive thank you to Martin for coming round and applying logic to the problem, very much appreciated..

They look better on yours than they did on mine.. They really as such a great wheel.. Glad they have gone to a good home..
