I think we are in the minority though, mine is no show stopper.. I started the cleaning today… Wash, clay, wash Leather cleaned and fed, hoover, all plastics dressed.. Polishing starts tomorrow.. Nice day up here, I'm even a bit pink..

I didn't take a picture mate.. Car taxed and driven today (20 odd miles) to make sure everything is ok. Felt great, I've no idea if the cams have made difference as its been so long since I've driven it but its sharp and certainly goes well.. Also have some new centre plates for the RCs, the old ones didn't take to powder too well.. Plan for the week, paintwork full treatment, Ultimate Dubs Saturday...

There aren't really any bits that come off while the sump is off.. USe the opportunity to do a service, oil will be coming out anyway so good time to do the filter. Also advise getting underneath and having a look at the bottom end of the engine.. Inspect what is in the sump, if its just oil and nothing metallic then you are laughing.. Id recommend a new gasket and bolts at the same time and ensure to torque up correctly… Interested to see the blue mirror glass when you get them fitted...

Fitted the new shiny wiper linkage today.. Would should have been a two minute job.. Removed old linkage, fine, decided to have a clean round the area while it was out, decided it a good idea to strip and rewrap the cable that passes underneath it, it ended up coming all the way up from the wheel arch (side repeater wiring), not ideal, couldn't get new link on, removed entire wiper mech and did it on the desk, refitted, partial removal of arch liner to get cabling back onto side repeater.. Not the most successful evolution.. Looks nice though...

Some aftermarket parts (BMCs, some Cams, engine mounts) will sell.. I don't think inpro or such a like are going to be popular with the majority.. If you could get Hella to make all red rears or top tints then youd be printing money...

The only bit missing from the picture is a steering rack so thats what my money is on.. The shield i need is the one on the top right of your shield picture. The top one isn't fitted on the older VR.. Attention to detail as ever is superb..

50 seems about the going rate, could you tie in a tyre change to make it more economical?

Im after some advice about wheel spacers.. Who has used them, any affect on handling, do i need longer bolts, recommended makes, hub centric, how thick are the ones people have used.. Any good info appreciated..

Yeah that is the correct one.. As mentioned above maybe trying putting a layer of something between it and the underside of the gaiter to push it up closer to the gear knob...

Have you got the correct clip under there? Lets see a picture of it..

All Golfs were 2.8 either OBD1 or 2.. The block is the same though and will go straight into your car, no issues with gearbox etc..
