This is how ear;y MK2 Golfs were... my 84 GTI had no door speakers or even the pods to install them, just dash ones like you pictured
-
Cheers GF ;)
-
Can I put my name down too please? :D
-
Possibly the illumination for the auto-box model as the R-D-N-1-2-3 is illuminated on my car ;)
-
Still got all my Tamiya cars from when I was a kid... well the ones that survived being shot at when I got my air rifel :( When they re-released the Sand Scorcher and Super Champ a few years back I bought my boys one each and stuck them in the loft until they're old enough to build them... I'm looking forward to bilding them! :D
-
Nice! Just in time for the nicer weather - more pics!

MZpog to the rescue! Good to talk to you Stuart, thanks again for all your help - hopefully I can get the project rolling again now :D
-
yep I need some, been side tracked with the sunroof and a new windscreen :(
-
I think its do-able! :D - if you didn't mind taking it to work? What time are you at work till? - I'm leaving home at about 4am to be onsite in Hull at 9ish, gut I'm hoping to be away at 2-3 in the afternoon, would that work for you? What sort of cash are you looking for it?
-
Hi MZpog, if you did have the time it would be very much appreciated, the two parts I need are the chrome lifters that lift the internal trim when you tilt the sunroof, I'm not really sure on dismantle :( I was just going to follow my nose, I would imagine the motor comes off and the sliding parts just wind out from the cassette at the other end? Where abouts in West Yorkshire are you? - I'm traveling to Hull on Thursday... how far is that from you?
-
Yeah we have great neighours, we live in OAP central which is great, I'm always fixing computers, printers and lifting stuff out of cars etc. for them and they're always calling over to look at the 'old banger' as my 3 year old has named the Corrado :D and of course told everyone thats it's name.
-
LOL! I was wondering if you had driven past... :D I'll be honest - I think it looks pretty bad too, the house looked like a building site for over a year whilst I did the loft conversion, now I've dumped a 25 year old car with flat tyres on the driveway :( I need to atleast get the screen back in it and the tyres pumped up... as soon as I can get it back together its off to heated garage luxury! LOL!
-
Nothing yet unfortunately - really holding things up, cars now running of course, I have a clean interior waiting to go back in which I'm reluctant to do until the sunroof is in, new screen goes in tomorrow, then the cars off to my Mums house to live in the dry, I just wanted to get what I've already taken appart back on the car so I dont end up with a shell on the driveway and a garage full of parts - Its not going down very well with the Mrs being on the driveway.. I can’t get on Scottish VAG, no confirmation email turns up... I just get this "The specified username is currently inactive. If you have problems activating your account, please contact a board administrator." I've requested the email twice.
-
I dont think until I receive the confirmation email I can see the classified section... just had a browse round the site and cant find the sunroof, if I click your link it says my account isnt authorised :(
-
Ahhh fantastic! I'm just trying to join up now, I dont seem to get the confirmation email through :(
-
Looking for a sunroof... doesnt have to work... I just need the chrome trim lifters...
-
Still on the hunt for a broken sunroof if anyone has one... just need the chrome lifters pictured in the first post, getting desperate now as its holding up getting the interior back in.. :(
-
I think you'd need the K04 to get near 260bhp - the K03S just isn't big enough to shift enough air to roll that sort of power, I've spent a lot of time round MK4 20v's the most I ever saw was 250hp on a very generous set of rollers and a heavily modified car. K03S equiped cars are usually nearer the 220-230bhp mark. Could be worth looking at the Jabbasport IHI kit which would get you well over the 300bhp mark, or maybe the Eliminator kits from the US, I've heard the lag is pretty heavy on them thou...

Bucks Powder Coatings http://www.buckspowdercoating.co.uk/contact-us/ Seems ok - its very local to, just over in Bishopstone ;) Place is a bit of a mess, but he seemed pretty conscientious about his work, said that the cross memeber hadn't come up to well due to the pitting on it, I said not to worry as it was expected, I'm not going for show room finish, functional and not rotten ;) He's happy to take on small parts and ammounts as well.
-
Had the windsceen man out - he's coing Monday to cut the screen out ;) - did a great deal on a new one and as this isn't the original VW one and its started to delaminate I thought I might as well stick a new screen in and keep this as a spare. very small amount of rust around the top of the screen which I hope isn't too bad when I get the glass out.. I'll treat it prior to the new screen going in... Gesss it feel like its really going slow now :( - spent another evening cleaning parts and repairing trim etc Clocks have come up mint! Few bits back from the powdercoaters too:- Seatbelt rail Radiator support Just need it to stop raining now. ** well I guiess the google photos link doesnt work? - anyone know how to do this? *** sussed it... you have to use the full link... right click on the picture and click "open in new tab" then that is the link... its huge so I'm going to look at another way....
-
Hmmm yeah could be worth a look? have you tried them? dont suppose you have link? - I did have a look on ebay but they all seem to be a bit "Max Power" for me :(
-
Ahhh ok, cheers Cressa its correct then with 5 in total, it has the look that one had fallen out, but now I look at it I can see how its done. How expensive are they if the go? :( I need to test they all work I guess....
-
Seem to be taking more off than I'm actually putting back on at the moment! :( Whilst it was in bits I thought I would check the instrument cluster as the needles tick, first thing I notice is there is only 2 bulbs? (Ones with the black plastic twist mount) but there is three holes, am I correct thinking one has dropped out and I need to get another one? Or was it meant to have two only?

Thumbs up for the Hella rad... mine turned up last week, good OEM like quality feel to it.
