  1. Seems a fair price considering having the more desirable BAM engine, I'm neck deep in a VR restoration or I'd of been interested... Jabba IHI kit 340Bhp :D
  2. If you ever get a full list of what you're swapping and where you bought them I'd be interested, this will be one of my jobs at some point ;) - I want the OEM feel to.
  3. Thought I'd crack on with a few other jobs whilst I stew on the sunroof and windscreen LOL! :D I whipped the drivers side door handle off as I know there is an upgrade part for it, I seem to remember it replaces one of the monkey metal parts? - also does anyone know what the cable on the handle does?
  4. Afternoon Is it possible to host pictures directly from google photos? I've tried putting the link in the post, but on a preview it shows up as just a link, as I take most of my car pctures with my phone they all end up in google photos.
  5. Got all the door cards off at the moment, the membranes look mint! not had speakers etc lashed in them and the cards are rot and mould free, just asked the Mrs to pour a watering can over the car whilst I was in it... leaks pretty badly, when I try and pull the trim up I can see that the bonding has failed.. Autowindscreens want £185 to rebond it. Gesssssssss :( Anyone know how to get the screen trim off? I was thinking a wipe of silicone until the screen is insured...
  6. Just having a tinker on the VR in my lunch break, first thing to greet me is a puddle of water on the driverside footwell, the passengerside is completely dry... anyone got any experince of leaks on the drivers side? the sound deadening on the bulkhead is dry and if I pour water down the sunroof drain pipe it runs out underneath, this is going to slow up getting the interior back in even further :( ********************* Well a watering can later and I can see that the blinkin screen leaks!!! like a siv! I guess this is a new screen, or the old one refitted? - is there a temporary fix I can do?
  7. Top stuff! - big relief on the over-pressuring ;)

    laid up policy

LOL - yeah the sunroof saga is still in full swing, the one a mate said I could have turned out to be a MK3 item so I'm speaking with Lilfuzzer about his stock ;) Hmmmmm not sure, its a Mk1 Focus RS, mint, 1 owner, very low milage.. less than 30K I think, spends a lot of time under a car blanket in a heated garage... I know the Alvis and the Austin 7 made it to the fete last year.

    laid up policy

Laid up?? - summers comming, get it MOT'd, taxed, insured and enjoy it! few memebers of my family have very collectable cars, Alvis, Austins, Mk1 RS, even they come out in the spring/summer.
  10. Wowser! thats some parts stash!

    VR6 rescue

Yep I have thought that on a few occasions... it's fighting me all the way, the sunroof has driven me close to crazy.. the thought of dancing round the car wailing like a mad man with an empty petrol can and a box of matches did cross my mind.. :D Yep I can see the attraction of the Porsche... anything with a Stuttgart badge seems to be going up in value faster than houses. Be prepared for bits to ping off, snap and disintegrate in your hands, but other than that its all good! and people here are really helpful. I'm about 7 miles from Aylesbury on the Oxfordshire border.

    VR6 rescue

Looking good! sounds like you're in a similar boat to me... my VR had stood for 3+ years (since found out it could be nearer 4+ :( ) with a trashed gearbox, didn't run when I got it back ether, full of water, mould and mildew but like you I couldn't watch it rot away, so have pressed on with it cleaning and repairing it... hopefully will have it somewhere near the road by the summer... one word of advice.. leave the sunroof well alone! :D
  13. I went a similar path to Cressa - diesel cranking power battery, I'll go and look at the model this morning for you... I think it was one of these.. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444770753&1&cc5_995 Plenty of ommph! - I asked for a bit of discount in my local ECP and they did it for 50 odd quid from memory..
  14. Looks good, yep I like the side decals too! :D
  15. Looks like I'm back on the hunt for a sunroof or atleast these parts if you have any Chris?
  16. What Corrado are they out of?
  17. Looks good - same sort of jobs I intend to do to mine. out of interest.. how do you make the pictures that size? mine just come up as attachments.. are they hosted elsewhere?
  18. Did this yesterday with my sunroof... wind it to where it stops withe the electric motor... then crank it with the alen key to where it should be... unscrew the 2 screws out of the motor drop it down and press it the same way you did to park it... the motor will turn a little as you manually wound it back to the park possition... re-fit parked motor in parked sunroof. crack a frosty cold beer!

    Steel or cheap wheels

No worries Chris, worst comes to worst I'll stick it on axel stands and put a cover over it as its currently on the front of the house, Mrs will go potty but I need to get the wheels done before putting tyres on it really.
  20. I've just put the motor back on the old roof... and the park seems to be way off, I read somewhere that you park the motor then remove it and manually wind the roof into place... question is thou ... how do you manually wind the roof into place if the motor has been removed?
  21. Cheers Chris Is it ok to order from the ebay shop? - do you offer any discount for forum members?
  22. Odd what comes back from google on CCGB http://www.cockapooclubgb.co.uk/ Always been more of a cat person ;)
  23. Its already gathered some interest here:- http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?96499-Vr-with-only-3569-miles I'm not so sure on those miles...
