I just found this thread on the forum from a few years ago, might be of use. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?76861-Abs-wiring-diagram Years ago I had a full copy of Corrado wiring diags on loan from the local dealer to use while I was fitting my climate control, wish I'd copied it all at the time...........or just stolen it!!!

Why do we continually suggest that every strongly priced Corrado is over priced, maybe it’s us, the owners that are keeping the price artificially low by doing so? I myself know this all too well as I’ve had my car almost eighteen years now, it cost £14K when I bought it and I’ve spent a fair amount over the years just keeping on top of stuff, I’m currently £2K down on a paint job plus a fortune on all the associated door and window seals etc, waiting for the interior retrim to be finished at £2K+ plus whatever else I’ve spent on bearings, bushes, cables, brake lines, air conditioning components etc etc. But when anyone asks me what it’ll be worth when I’ve finished all this I say five or six thousand.......maybe I should be saying at least ten to twelve thousand, if we all did this, maybe we could talk the value of the few remaining cars up rather than convincing the world they’re worthless???

I watched this on YouTube then dived in, it worked a treat!

I just pulled the hose off the fuel rail into a drum and pumped mine out using the new pump. Once I’d got as much out as it would pump I put five or six gallons of V Power in.
-
After mine had been in the body shop two years without being started the fuel had gone off and seized up the fuel pump. I swapped the pump and put fresh fuel in and got it to fire on a couple of cylinders only, had to get the injectors cleaned and tested. When it finally started it was very clattery for a good few minutes as the followers built up pressure.

Hi, welcome to the forum. 8v was only made for the last year of production and never sold in big numbers, as if any Corrados ever sold in big numbers! There can’t be too many of them left as they’ve always been overshadowed by the others but it’s still a Corrado isn’t it. Love the moonlight blue, great colour! Enjoy

Was really hoping to make this year but looking like the interior could still be at the trimmers..........might be a bit of a difficult drive getting there peering over the dash! How late will I be able to book a place? -
Bought at 54K in September 2000, daily driver until taken off the road in 2008 and sat at 134K ever since............promise to finish it this year!!!

I'd love a G60 if I could possibly justify another Corrado. If you can possibly keep it G60, then surely it's the way to go and there must be g-laders out there somewhere. I guess it all depends on how much long you can manage without the car and how much you can justify spending?

Another vote for VW Heritage from me too :thumbleft:

It depends a lot on how deep your pockets are, I bought them all and spent a fortune to find some were unnecessary when I looked at them. The new boot seal and sunroof seal look hardly any different, the door seals however looked very tired where the kids had stood on them climbing into the back. Passenger window scraper seals seem to be obsolete so do take great care removing them (there are videos on YouTube demonstrating how to) I didn’t take care and ended up buying a complete passenger door off eBay just for the seal! If you’re careful you can remove just about anything without breaking, do as much as you can upfront and box everything up carefully to save body shop hours if possible. Buy some Auto Finesse Revive and set about all the black plastics and seals while they’re off the car, it works wonders. I removed the windscreen trims before getting the screen removed as they were unavailable at the time, and in doing so cracked the screen which cost another two hundred quid, I have seen trims for sale recently though so they’re probably worth investing in. Nothing much else broke as I remember, everything was fairly substantial.

That's not very far from me, in fact probably too close for comfort, I should stay away from Mansfield until it's sold, temptation might be too much and one classic green VR6 is enough for anyone!

Mansfield VW (Vertu). Eldest daughter's fiancé said there was a G60 owner came in for a brake fluid change yesterday, didn't tell me any more details but said he was a member on here!

£2200. It's a lump of money but I've had the car since September 2000 and it's not going anywhere so I think the investment is worth it!

Delivered my seats and door cards to MJ Interiors for new leather. Getting closer to finishing!

Advice on rust treatment for my poor 205 Gti

Another vote for ACF50 here, after all a product developed to inhibit corrosion in aeroplanes must be half decent??? -
I've always struggled with the concept we own cars that are worth a lot less than a similar vintage Golf, and we've convinced ourselves for all that time that these values were realistic. There is after all little between the two models in real terms, neither is particularly more or less reliable than the other, neither performs significantly better than the other, the Corrado just cost a few grand too much when new and suffered from the resultant poor popularity, a popularity that never recovered before it was discontinued. For years we said that prices were too low and one day they would bottom out before increasing again. Well maybe they have done just what we always said they would and now we're saying people are asking too much. Will we ever be satisfied? I'm sure they'll never recover enough for me to get my money back but then I bought my VR in 2000 for best part of 14K. It is however probably of similar value to my 2007 Mk2 TT 3.2 now, and that cost a lot more than the Corrado when I bought it in 2010!

Whats the weirdest thing you've carried in your 'rado?

Winner! :thumbleft: -
Between September 2000 and October 2008 we managed just short of 80K miles at a fairly regular 10K per year. October 2008 to today.........zero! This may however be the year it comes back!
-
Mine has a load of scuff marks on it but it's still there, I did grind a hole in the sump being a bit too enthusiastic through a dip though!
-
And therein lies another problem, passenger door scrapers were obsolete when I was buying all the new bits, I bought a full passenger door from eBay to get a seal that was better than the one I removed before paint. Not checked recently what other seals are still available.
-
I stripped mine down myself and did a lot of the prep work, paid 2K plus costs for glass removal / refit, new screen which cracked coming out and recovery truck from home to paint shop and back. Then start factoring new door, boot, sunroof seals and any badges, trim etc that might get broken and you'll spend 4K without even trying! And as Chris says, it takes ages, I've not been very committed to the cause at times but I'm around three years in since I got serious about getting mine back on the road, moving house in the middle didn't help my case though.
