  1. I may have some InPro rear lights coming up for sale very soon...depending on how well my red-tinting of the original ones goes :) They are identical to the ones on the link above.
  2. Chris Knott here. If you've really invested in your car, you shouldn't be without an agreed value policy, especially if you have a look at the official 'book price' of the Corrado now :|
  3. Oh my! Simply awesome!!
  4. Check with the General Insurance Standards Council also. What Elephant have done to you regarding cancellation is definately not common practise in the industry. OTOH I don't know the terms of their contract, maybe that's why their premiums are competitive :(
  5. I'll second this. Also have a Milltek here, and in normal driving it's very subtle; unless you use lots of throttle you can barely hear it to be honest.
  6. Very bad luck mate. :( OTOH that C*** could have killed you...
  7. Not going to get you any benefit. They may slap an exclusion on you using the Corrado as a Taxi. There's a novel idea :D
  8. If you drive a car under the third party extension, IT IS INSURED whilst you are driving it. Check your insurance certificate, there is no wording on there at all to the effect that the vehicle has to be insured seperately. In fact, having a seperate insurance policy is not even mentioned. So they couldn't get out of it, trust me, although they might try to and certainly wouldn't encourage use of the third party extension regularly. If it went to Court, the insurer would ultimately have to indemnify the third party in any claim. I work for an insurance company and I've seen underwriting letters of indemnity go out directly to the police to prove cover in exactly this case. The police hate it, of course :) However, it is a seperate requirement under the Road Traffic Acts for the registered owner of the vehicle to insure it whilst it's on the highway. So if e.g. you park it on a hill, handbrake fails, and it rolls into someone/something, third party cover still needs to apply. Your 'drive any car' extension won't help you here. And yes, you can't get tax without an insurance cert. Basically, in your own case your Dad would be OK but you could still be done. IMO you should keep it off road or get it insured. One final point to remember is that 95% of front-line insurance company employees/muppets don't know the complexities relating to the above points, so may confuse the responsibilities of the driver with the registered keeper, and advise you incorrectly. Don't always believe what they tell you, believe what your documents say first and foremost.
  9. Good points. 'Insurance Approved' is worn as a badge of pride by many companies, but it usually means just what kvwloon says. A while back whilst looking for a bodyshop, I wandered into a place on Wirral specialising in classic car restorations. They had a Jensen Interceptor, a 60s Porsche and an E-type on the go, and I figured it was a safe bet that they knew their stuff. They did of course, took my car in and did a fine job. Give me a place like that over a big accident repair 'production line' any day.
  10. Have a look. Paying 7k is reasonable if it really is a minter with full history.
  11. Thanks Kev, not sure I'm that brave TBH :? I'll have a word with Dubsport, see what they can do.
  12. I've had an intermittent issue with my rev counter bouncing around at high RPM. Vince mentioned it might be a bad earth, but reconnected all the wires yesterday whilst installing the Schrik. Didn't see any evidence of bad behavoiur at Stealth, but on the way home, typically, the problem returned. Above 4k revs the needle loses resolution and can really go a bit mental. The engine is running fine. Anything else I can try, or do I need to look for new instruments? :x
  13. Very nice indeed 8) Blacked badge on grille works well, ride height spot on, smoke the rear lights and you're sorted!
  14. Dubsport Fitted my FK coilovers, also poly front Bushes, plus laser 4 wheel alignment (a must) for about what you've budgeted. No complaints here.
  15. Thats a very nice C Dave :) The Lakes have actually replaced Wales as my favorite place to drive after spending some time there this weekend. The A592, A593, B5285 and other roads around Coniston and Windamere are great, great fun when combined with a Corrado. Up hill, down dale, slow twisties, fast twisties, and mile after mile of them... Persuade the wife and kids to take the next family holiday here if you've not been before
  16. There was a C in the Parc Ferme 11:30am at Oulton Park today. Anyone here's?
  17. I have the FK Highsports - best thing I ever bought for the car, instant and very noticable improvement in cormering and appearance with a 40mm drop. After they were bedded in (which took me about 4 weeks) the ride was very nearly as comfortable as the standard set up too, so the non-adjustable damping seemed to strike an excellent compromise right out of the box. Certainly they were good enough to make damping adjustability totally superflous to me. I've not driven other C's with different coilover setups installed so I can only compare with the OEM standard. But if you check this forum and others, especially Golf forums, you'll find FKs have a good rep overall. And you can't really go wrong at the price IMO.
  18. Anyone used this stuff? If it's used on Airliners like it says it must be pretty potent I'd have thought... http://www.amazingglaze.co.uk/index2.phtml
  19. There is indeed a hole on the underside...not big enough to lever the thing but big enough to shine a torch through...which came in handy after I managed to pull the bulb out of the loom with the coathanger on my So Near And Yet So Far first attempt. After the de-bulbed wiring disppeared again into the dark recesses of the bodywork, the torch was a lifesaver. 45 mins later I got the sodding thing out again. Phat I'm not sure if I could get in into the engine bay at all TBH; fortunately underbody torch + coathanger eventually did the trick.
  20. Thanks gents, coathanger with indicators on is clearly the way to go :?
  21. Was changing one of the side indicators today, when removing the old light the wiring loom detached and disappeared into the body... how do I get at the damn thing? Fading light didn't help but it seemed I couldn't reach it from the engine compartment.
  22. Congrats mate, good luck with it!
