  1. hmmm. Sounds iffy. your going to have to take it back to them as it should not be doing that, and you don't want to be shelling out again for a new engine. How comfortable are you on the tools? I'd strip off all the belts so that I could take a better look.maybe the crank keyway sustained some damage? I'm assuming you experienced the classic PG ceank bolt failure?!! http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... =1&t=23101 Also if when they put the crank pulley back on the didn't aling the pulley up properly it would not sit flush on the crank and would wobble, but i'd expect any mechanic with a bit of common sense to get that right.
  2. it is definately sparking and u definately have fuel? What do the plugs look like? Are they fouled?
  3. car seems top be in very safe hands. enjoy. 8)
  4. I wouldn't of thought so. For a start does a 2e engine have a toothed wheel on the crank and a VR sensor like the abf does? ANd you'd have to be sure that the pinouts on the 2e ecu matched the ecu pinouts on the abf? Maybe someone will contradict me but I would be looking for an ABF ecu
  5. driving a corrado... What a novel idea. I thought they were just for axel stands?
  6. good to see you back on the place although your todo list is growing by the day. Oh well, get wrenching.
  7. Maybe take a pic of said plate? Angle grinder with a cutting disc would probably do it.
  8. I was going to attempt to re-build a 16v head myself but in the end I gave it to a professional.I'll be interested to see you go at it.Keeps us posted. :)
  9. Some people bait fast cars because they want to see them in action. I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't know about the Cosworth.
  10. its the way to go for plug and play. I have two friends who went this route. It is a sensible choice. I just have no sense.
  11. the stock one is more than adequate.
  12. are u sure that wifey didn't find your turbo that u have been hiding and decided to reap her revenge? Seriously tho I will never understand the mindset of people who do this sort of thing. :confused4:
  13. I was going to ask who was on a K plate. I wonder if the K plate has the fewest numbers?
  14. I actually know what you mean. :( This should be interesting. Will be interested in seeing pics of the haldex setup. Are you doing all the work yourself?
  15. my car is on a J plate and I have the later bonnet which allows for a bit more clearance.
  16. yup.I want a set of those rods. Although I they hadn't been so strong maybe the block may have survived?!.
  17. /\/\/\/\ good point.Maybe fairy obvious but much safer to change 1 at a time with basic equipment.
  18. when you get around/underneath and look at all the bolts involved you will see it is not hard. I don't have the standard rad fan cowling or g60 silencer so that might make access for me at the front at tad easier. That said it should still be very manageable.
