ah,I remember. I seem to remember reading that she didn't like the forum. what did you do to her Simon? :)
-
she must be talking about the canada site. :)

where did you find that Jon ? Is that someones build tread?

yeah things start to get a little ropey the closer I try and get it to 14.7.New slightly longer duration cam dosn't help. At 14.7:1 it tends to wobble towards 15 and above.I'll aim for slightly richer and then get a smog test done. Cheers. what box are you using. Is it a custom setup ?

A great project as it is but i understand that you would maybe want more. :salute: With the MOT does the afr have to lean out to a given level after before X amount of time? How long do they give you after cold starting to achieve said level? Are you running at pretty much stoich at idle ? i have to start thinking about my 1st MS MOT soon u see. cheers.

Decided to go for a fuse box from a car so that i could take advantage of a common positive rail. makes the wiring alot easier. This is from a nissan micra. It will do for now. -
tis true.
-
or you can have this one for a friendly price. its still where i lobbed it when i took it off last summer. :)
-
.. at least. Much easier starting with a G imo.
-
:) hard at it as ever. :salute:

are you getting valve reliefs cut out into the pistons?
-
Oh btw, getting the tensioner back on is not easy. I stand on a tyre to get better leverage (only 5'7)and lean down on it screaming all sorts of obscenities until i get it compressed. How much do you weigh. It helps if you are a bit portly. Or a roid monkey and or a bit crazy. Or you could see if VW will sell you the proper tool. Don't hold your breath for that though.

just post/pm if you get stuck. :thumb right:

nice. Hi.
-
You just keep disconnecting things until they com free. No exotic tools needed etc. its just bolts screws and nuts. rough guide.. remove air intake system. remove tensioner system and ribbed belt. remove boost return and silencer. carefully remove charger braided oil line. undo charger bolts and bobs your uncle and fannys your aunt. Once your charger is off the w/pump should be easy. use a good fit spline on your allen bolts to avoid rounding. :salute:

i guess the initial acceleration would be fun.. :)

PROBLEMS CONSISTANTLY STARTING ENGINE AND IRREGULAR IDLING
dirtytorque replied to markgia1's topic in Engine Bay
and also just said above you should feel the isv buzz when you turn on the ignition which is what I meant initially. ta. -
:) that is avtar material. I bet that was a satisfying day for you. :smug:

the 4 branch would aid flow ,but with greater CC more time may be needed to get rid of the exhaust gasses.Your exhaust cam duration may have been optimal for your 1.8 setup but not for your 1.9. Thus maybe you have some exhaust back pressure in the system ?
