dirtytorque replied to Yandards's topic in Members Gallery
Do you think the end of the year? I am starting to appreciate how hard it is to put a timescale on these things. :) I hav't had a chance to get your tensioner bracket duplicated yet,let me know if you need it back soonish. -
About to flush coolant / thermoswitch replacement
dirtytorque replied to radness's topic in Engine Bay
Just drained mine a couple of hours ago. I think you have the same hoses on a valver ?!? bottom left hand corner is the thermostat housing. -
Same as mine then.I'm just running a normal temp switch now although I have a low temp stat. That thing caused me loads of grief. At least you spotted it early. :thumbleft:

dirtytorque replied to Chris Langdon's topic in General Car Chat
I woudn't take it so personally Chris. Boost monkey has a point. If you go to the Corrado spotting thread about 95 % of the "was it you ?" posts go unanswered. Nice try, good idea but I guess no one on here saw your car. -
If anyone either knows where I can get one of these tensioner rollers from the mark 4 tdi family as pictured below I would be V greatful. or alternatively a part number so I can order from VW. need the roller and the stem that it attaches to. :salute:

Have you seen this web page? Came across it whilst surfing obviously but it lists a box from a mk5 golf and other late vw and audis and it's basically a short ratio 6 speed O2A box have figured out the speedo drive but looks perfect for your new build. http://www.turbo-conversion.com/16v-Tur ... 5a77c1ae72 Will you make use of the variable cam timing of the 1.8T? Could be useful with that rev range! I believe Emerald can be made to control it IIRC. Some variable cam timing systems are just a switch being activated at a certain rpm to change the profile of the cam. ....or such is my understanding. If that was the case I think most aftermarkets could be made to deal with that..

It would make an interesting 1/4 mile machine though at 8.5k but a stiff engineering challenge. Have you got an idea in your head what you want from the car? Is it going to be a daily aswell? These are not loaded questions, just interested. :salute:

what he said. engine just needs to get in sync b4 attempting to fire. -
I think you willend up missing having such a unique car. TT's are very nice but not as an unusual site as a well kept Red C.

dirtytorque replied to Supercharged's topic in Engine Bay
Might be good for a new install that you were cautiuos about. I'm not sure I'd want to live with it in there 4ever.Prevention better than cure n'all. Very good idea though. -
so you havn't eased it out towards 4k once? c'mon we won't tell. :)

No you don't need a vernier,The engine ecu will take it in its stride but obviously it will be sub optimal. These ams are fairly mild so you should be ok with idle and emissions etc they just beef up the mid range a bit. shrichk generally considered to be the best am for a g60. I'm pleased with mine.
