  1. looks pretty good already to me! really deep colour in the paint :salute: ditto.
  2. should be ok. Just..
  3. also check the little vac hose between the fuel pressure reg and the inlet manifold is not perished with any holes etc. :salute:
  4. thats what i thought but the original cooil wire is connected to the egative terminal but still no rpm. In the bentley it just shows the green wire from the neg going to the ecu.
  5. yeah,i've read that in a couple of places but all my install has is a green ignition wire and the black 12 volt wire. Dunno if any other g60 owners can confirm?!?? :help:
  6. a true Corrado experience. The pleasure and the pain. welcome aboard. :)
  7. any guidance would be greatly received. :salute:
  8. Have u had a look in the 16v FI thread? Lots of info on this conversion there. Not the easiest, although flusted made it look simple but I think even he would admit its tricky.
  9. Yes even if u just used one head gasket. if you put kr pistons in the pg block u'd come out at about normal kr compression as pg and kr blocks have same deck height and rod lengths I believe. So too high for FI.
  10. your compression will be too low if you do that. = naff all power.
  11. I dont think you can fit it the wrong way round. you can mate. It just a normal IC.
  12. ahh.. good old humble pie. Always a joy.
  13. No need for any bottom end work mate. Charge cooling is always a good idea with boost. So a fmic or a charge cooler would be good to get the most out of any mods.
  14. Friend i'd loose the capitals, people tend to take it as shouting on line.. Sorry to hear about your car. Good haynes manual will do the trick for general procedure for removing/installing an 8valve VW head. There is also plenty of info on this site for draining coolant system setting up your timing after etc.. Do a search and then if you have any specific questions then come back. Good luck.
  15. I'm going to get a third opinion tomorrow. Thanks for everyones input. Play nice. 8)
  16. what happened to Bridget? :D
  17. your dash lights are coming on and the engine is turning over, the only other thing to check is that there is 12 volts going to the + side of the coil. If there is then I personally don't think it is the ignition switch. Do you know a mechanic,or someone with a timing light? What i'm getting at is that someone could check that you are getting a spark with one of these. When you turn the ignition on can you here the fuel pump priming briefly? Oh and one last thing. Pls be careful disconnecting pressurized fuel lines. Good luck.
  18. It should be closer, b4 the individual runners collect into one. wideband will pick up lean conditions, looking to pick up drops in combustion temperature that denote knock.
  19. well a conversation with a friend has sparked me into thinking having just one monitoring one of the cylinders is a bit troublesome.. Maybe at least two would be better?! Your suppose to have them as close to the exhaust ports as possible so it should be upstream of your lambda really..
  20. it is the least critical of the timing marks because you can adjust the dizzy using a timing light afterwards to make sure that ignition timing is setup correctly. i'll look forward to seeing the pics of your new install. 8)
  21. Bump and additional question. Those who run EGT's,c'mon i know your out there. :D How many are you running? If just one how did you decide which cylinder your were going to monitor? If we don't get answers we are going to start knocking on doors. Humbly yours Robert.
  22. if she asked real nice. :)
  23. well done mate. Looks like you are nearly at the finish line. I hope to see/hear it about at one of the shows in the summer. :thumbleft:
  24. Just read through this, its nice to look at someone else's car for a change. Do you think this will be ready for the summer?
