  1.

Koni adjustables? What springs are you using?

Koni dump adjustable. There are eibach springs as fas as I can remember, some sort of standard high or max -20mm

Nice one, do you have a link for the dampers or any idea how much they cost?

Sorry for the thread hi jack but after owning cheap coilivers I've come to the conclusion your better off spending the money on a decent shock and spring setup and sacrifice height adjustment. Had adjustable Koni shocks on an old civic and they were incredible!

Don't have a link. I only know they worth about 150 quid used but have no idea how much new. All what I can give You is picture of them. If You look in my vr6 in members gallery You will see them.

  2. Everything was done for MOT so today checked everything one more time and found a problem :( N/S front wheel bearing had very little playing, probably it would be only advisory but replaced all rears and O/S front so decided to do this one as well. Problem is that MOT is on Wednesday and today is a bank holiday so everything is closed and I have no bearing to replace. Was in dealer but the didn't have any in stock but I can't wait till Thursday for order. I hope to get one tomorrow, if not I have to rebook my MOT as everything is dissembled and waiting for new bearing.

This time I was prepared and had bearing separator in my tool collection.

  3. New alloys. Keskin KT5 17 x 7.5. I've never like them to much but look quite nice. I needed some 17 alloys to check if I will manage to fit my future brakes so they are.

    Now need some coilovers

Fitted my unbreakable bonnet release cable bracket. Did similar thing to my first Corrado more than 5 years ago and still works :)

  4. hi

I'm thinking of converting my c g60 into a 20v but what acture parts will i need?

some1 selling there engine setup for £500 is that cheap?

    thanks for the help.

What do You mean engine ?? Just engine or with alternator, turbo etc.. ?? You need ecu and wiring loom, intercooler, lots of pipes, engine mounts etc.

Probably I will be selling full set up from my corrado 20VT, just bolt on if You interested but price will around 2000-2500 quid, depends what You need.

  5. I had a cv joint pointed on my mot test and replaced it but there is still clicking. Its only on first gear so must be a gearbox. Could clicking gearbox be a reason of MOT failure ??

What I herd is that condition of Your engine and gearbox is not considered on MOT. Does anybody now the answer ?? I will be checking everything again on Monday because maybe I did something wrong but don't think so. I've booked my MOT on Wednesday and don't want to go there and find out that my VR6 will fail it again :(

I have a plan to replace this gearbox but not now.

  6. I have a JOM coilovers on my 20VT and they were fine for my until I have driven a Corrado with KW2 set up. Its a day/night difference.

Jom - hard as suppose to be and that's all. Car is bouncing and handling not as was on KW.

I have a Koni (not coilovers) suspension in my VR6 and is as good as KW but miles better then JOM or similar 200-300 pounds one. Car sticks to road on the corners as should not like on JOM's.

  7. got them from the VW dealers local to me, there were on a special order and meant to be genuine. I am just gobsmacked that they did not last very long as I remember them being over 60 quid :(

Shame :( New Beru on the way :)

  8. They were from VW!! The reciept should have been there for them. I am quite shocked they were so rubbish.

No worries mate. I bought this car to get them back on the road in proper way.

They weren't Beru or Bosch or VW for sure. They had some different signs on them but can't remember what but they were very rubbish. Maybe You paid for genuine one but somebody fitted some fakes for You. Anyway... Newer mind. I'm very happy about the car, and fixing it is a pleasure for me.

  9. When I've started it yesterday wasn't working on all 6 cylinders, maybe 3-4 cylinders, so today decided to find out where the problem is. 5 of 6 leads going to coilpack were snapped. 2 of 6 leads going to engine were broken. Now need new leads and new spark plugs. Already ordered :)

    brokenlead.jpg

Because coilpack was almost brand new I managed to remove all broken pins out not braking coilpack what wasn't easy

    leadspieces.jpg

Fixed my exhaust mounting bracket using J-B cold weld glue. Hope it will do the job till new exhaust come.

  10. 6 hours in garage today end....

    - front bearing done

    - CV joint done

    - both top mounts done

Everything putted together and 4 wheels are finally on the ground :)

    To do

    - bonnet release cable

    - exhaust welding (that's a problem because will use some exhaust glue, just need to attach one hanger on) will be full Miltek in near future but it must be done for MOT

Started car today and need to replace spark plugs and leads as not working on all cylinders. I've got brand new coil pack which will use if sparks and leads doesn't help.

  11. Spent few hours today finishing my rear brakes. Both sides done :)

    Replaced

    -Brake disc - Black Diamond

    -Brake Pads - Ferrodo

    -Bearings - VW

    -ABS sensor ring - VW

-All possible bolts and nuts - VW

Tried to replace my front bearing as well but half of it stuck on my hub. Now have to wait on bearing separator which already bought from ebay.

  12. how'd you find these compared to standard items?

They are still waiting on my shelf to being fitted but they much better "quality" than originals. I mean they are harder and from my experience from my different car they are bulletproof. Fit once and forgot about them. I had only front bushes fitted to my first corrado and against genuine one they were still fine after 3 years driving.
