  1. Agreed, the film is a mixture of terrible and hilarious, with some acting worthy of Hollyoaks! Was good to see a C though
  2. For some reason the missus thought it'd be 'fun' to watch the film 'Teeth' tonight. I wasn't so sure, as the story revolves around a woman with 'vagina dentata' (say no more! ) Anyway, look what I spotted at 11 minutes and 4 seconds in: The missus wasn't impressed with me rewinding the DVD and taking a pic on my phone, hopefully she doesn't go getting any ideas! :gag: Anyway, looks like an Aqua VR6 SLC to me...

  5. Easiest place to look is on your logbook, assuming it still has the original engine! FYI the G60 engine code is PG.
  6. Yeah that seems a bit excessive, I get 400-450 miles to a tank which works out at about 33-35 mpg most of the time. Get it Vag-com'd and see if it throws anything up.
  7. It could well be worth spending the money - btw, it's not a green 'M' plate Storm is it?
  8. I got 100 yards down the road from my house with my previous Corrado (8V), fully packed on the way to a week in Scotland. It suddenly cut out with no warning and would not restart. A few quick checks revealed absolutely no spark but plenty of fuel. Another further check with my vagscanner showed all the sensors working ok so I narrowed it down to ignition components with the most likely suspect being the coil. I whipped the coil off and legged it home, compared it to a spare coil I kept from my old Polo GT and found it to be identical :D Dashed back, fitted it and away we went, it never missed another beat in the whole time I owned it! I was so thankful that it chose then to break down rather than somewhere 100's of miles from home, in the dark or snow with no heater etc - good Corrado :notworthy:
  9. The grommet should stretch over the brake line easily enough. That is if I you are talking about the grommet which secures the flexible hose to the strut?
  10. Thanks to Besian - I bought an OBD2 conversion from him last week. He was good enough to deliver it to me in Derbyshire (at cost) and spent a good while explaining the fitting procedure. Much appreciated! Tom
  11. Spotted a blue Storm (I think, it was on solitudes!) M3** VWC in Chesterfield town centre yesterday at about 15:30 - I was in my Aqua VR. Gave a little beep on the horn and I think I got a wave back :)
  12. I'd like one please - can you PM me with the necessary information - I haven't read the entire thread so not sure on whether you can supply the OEM plugs but would like it if you could! Cheers Tom
  13. I've tried to fit VR6 steering arms to an 8V rack and I can confirm that they are the same - its just the length of the arms themselves that's different... Tom
  14. sniffpetrol is bloody awesome, I was wondering when the next one would come along! Have a look through some of the previous ones, they're absolutely quality
  15. The next lot of upgrades are now complete. Spent about 8 hours on sunday working on it and fitted: - Genuine VAG 288mm front discs and pads - Refurbished carriers and calipers - DG Autotech front stainless braided hoses - Genuine VAG rear discs and pads - Genuine VAG rear wheel bearings - Refurbished Mk4 calipers and carriers - Goodridge MK4 conversion hoses It was a fun day with the usual repairs of previous bodges, had to make up a couple of new brake pipes due to poorly made flares, and the only way to get one of the rear carrier bolts out was with lots of heat and by hammering a multi-hex socket over it (someone had previously rounded it off!). Apart from that it all went well and the brakes bled up lovely after all the work, although they still feel understandably vague because of the new pads etc. I've done around 40 miles and they're improving all the time :) Here's a couple of pics, nothing very exciting but gives an idea: And here's my Mini with the Corrado in the background - its bizarre because it's usually the Mini thats up on axle stands with the Corrado outside
  16. Yeah its generally a fault unique to them! No its just that I know of a Storm thats recently been put back on the road after 6 years standing and I wondered if it might have been you who bought it. Hope you find the problem mate :)
  17. Could possibly be the seals in the master cylinder if its been stood for so long....its not a green M plate Storm by any chance is it?
  18. I'm not an expert in Veyron's but from what I remember the car has to be stopped and put in "high speed" mode for the spoiler to go as high as it is in the video - *edit* - I was wrong, did some research and apparently the spoiler retracts when put into high speed mode... It would seem to me that the driver was going a little too quickly for his driving talent :( Such a shame, and it'll definitely be beyond repair, salt water will have got into everything, and I bet the engine has ingested its fair share of it too - anyone fancy a W16 with broken con-rods? :|
  19. Sounds like a good plan...would be very useful for those attempting jobs for the first time so they don't end up needing to get another tool halfway through the job!
  20. I did this job on my 8V and actually found it easier to remove the entire trackrod from the steering rack. You'll need a 32mm spanner to do the job, but by doing it that way you avoid removing the trackrod end and therefore avoid the need to reset the geometry (although, as it turned out I replaced both TRE's anyway, but thats by the by). Hope that helps - but a definite answer is that no, the narrow end of the boot will not fit over the TRE without risking some damage or potential stretchage to the boot itself. Tom
  21. I'm glad its sorted now mate, and I'm glad I decided to keep hold of that coil, it nearly went in the bin several times!
  22. MArrado - I saw you in Matlock last friday at about 5.30...you were queueing to go through the traffic lights at Matlock Green, I pulled out of a side road in a blue Mk5 Golf TDi and shouted 'hey, I've got a VR6 too!' at you, but you weren't looking  Your car looked really nice but I see what you mean about the de-boy-racering it, still looked great. Its typical though, the one day I don't take my Rado to work and one drives right past as I'm coming out :brickwall: Whereabouts in Derbyshire are you?
  23. Received mine today, they got to me despite the address being pretty wrong  Really good looking bits of kit, looking forward to getting them on the car now! Thanks :notworthy: Tom
  24. I'm pretty sure it's the electric window control module...I'm ready to be corrected though!
