  1. I’ve had a look at the picture in your first post. The bit you’ve highlighted looks like an adaptor for the sensor in case the take off on the engine is a larger size. You screw the Adaptor in to the hole and then the sensor into the adaptor. I had a little google for twin conductive wire but ended up in a maze. From the looks of the picture all it is is two strands of wire, one red one black so I assume any automotive wiring would suffice You say you have it wired up, does it work? I suppose the cost would depend on the hourly labour charge of the place you take it to. I take it the instructions, if any are pretty vague. You could also go back to where you purchased it and ask for help with it. Best of Wullie
  2. You won't find this helpful, but as for using the original sender, I don't really know, have a look at the specs and if the voltages are within spec it "May" work. I got the T piece as part of the kit which included two brackets for alternative fittings, screws, nut's and bolts and said T piece. Mind you it was about 15 years ago. You could try motor factors and if they don't have anything ask them where you could get them. Perhaps someone on here would know. It shouldn't take long on this forum
  3. Oh yes, the crawling in through the boot experience. Drivers door lock died, large van van parked hard up against passenger side in IKEA car park. I crawled over the back seats, got agonising cramp in my leg, managed to open door from inside and crawled out into the car park and rolled about in agony till the cramp eased, much to the amusement of onlookers. Then the drivers door blew shut! Borrowed a small child from one of the onlookers to do the boot climbing adventure. At least I provided some entertainment for a few people.
  4. I've never put one in a Corrado but on a previous car I used a T piece where the original sensor was located and used one branch for the original fitment and the other for the replacement guage. Kept getting asked why I had two water temp guages though.
  5. Loved the quote in the reviews "I'd rather push my Corrado than drive a honda"
  6. Was through in the East Neuk of Fife at the weekend and spotted an immaculate original looking blue Storm M ***YWY
  7. Use Mighty Putty. Its in General Car chat but I don't know how put in a topic link.
  8. About 20 minutes at most. Will PM you my mobile number if you want to give me a call.
  9. That's about all there is. After that your into the actual clutch and release bearing. The clicking noise, where does it seem to be coming from, is it the pedal area or from the engine bay? Where abouts in Glasgow are you? I'm off to Fife tomorrow morning but should be back and reasonably sobered up by Tuesday if you're still stuck.
  10. Sounds as if the door pins on the rear of the door opening are in need of adjustment. A case of loosening them and then trial and error with a bit of thought. Mark their current position before you start in case you need to return them to the original position. The boot/hatch lock seems to attract all sorts of sh*t so a good clean out with WD40 or suchlike should make an improvement.
  11. I don't know if the VR6 is the same but I had trouble bleeding my 16v clutch till I discovered a second bleed nipple just after the reservoir. Bleeding through that sorted the problem. The clicking noise has me stumped though. I had the pedal not coming back up problem and that turned out to be the master cylinder that was worn. It only happened if you had been holding the clutch down in traffic,(M8 in rush hour at the Kingston Bridge) and hooking your toe under the pedal gave a temporary respite.
  12. Maserati Quattroporte? It's got 4 doors

    Paint has been pl

If the pint is badly faded it may be worth while finding one of those places which mix aerosols to match your colour. They may be able to produce a "pre-faded" shade
  14. Nice looking N reg VR6 sitting in JR Volkswagen in Fulbar Road Paisley, dark colour. I may not be alone after all.
  15. That's ageist!!! I'm over 60 and my son says I drive too fast, moreso since I got the new stainless exhaust.
  16. If it's the release bearing I'm afraid the box has to come off. Good time to look at all the other bits that hide in there.
  17. Sounds suspiciously like the clutch release bearing is worn.
  18. Pulled one from my KR. It is the same as your originals. The number is 0 437 502 041 (014). I don't know what the ones you bought are from but if the are loose becauase of the missing o ring I wouldn't use them.
  19. Just drove from Perth to Paisley in light traffic, between 50 and 80 mph most of the way and got 36.3. Was quite pleased as about town I'm pushed to get it over 23.
  20. I had a similar problem, the short link between the motor and wiper had popped off. Tried varios things then went to VW. New link (About 6-7" long) was under a tenner. It's a bugger to get on as it's a really tight fit. I used a pair of pipe grips with an angled head to squeeze the joints on.

    Fog light swap

Just had to go and check in case my memory was playing up. The fog lights and reversing lights are both wired up and working, complete with reflectors. It's a 1990 16v and assumed all Corrados would have been the same.
  22. Finally got a full stainless exhaust fitted. The whole process was a nightmare from start to finish as the place I went to had passed it on to another company. Now it's done though it's an excellent job. It's a custom built jobbie from back to front and sounds lovely. Also changed the alternator and power steering belts. Who decided that the power steering pulley should overlap the altenator one, made it extremely awkward as I'd loosened the belts off before I realised you had to remove the pulley. Loosened off the power steering pump instead.
  23. I'm in Paisley and ain't seen a Corrado for yonks. Sometimes I feel so lonely
  24. Slightly more than a good walk. Happy polishing, I'll keep thinking about it and, who knows, one of these days when I don't use it as a daily I'lll maybe just do it. See from other threads you've few things planned. Hope it all goes well.
  25. Only if you buy the beer!! Whereabouts are you? Sounds like it must be the south coast, or halfway accross the channel.
