  1. the bonnet catch was clearly broken as you can see the bonnet it raised
  2. indeed! imagine the potential chaos if they drove down a highway like that
  3. I saw the below when I went for a walk on my break at work. it was parked in a public car park, so must have been driven there & potentially going to be driven back to wherever. I have not edited the registration as maybe someone will know the owner & could help educate them on the dangers it presents to them as well as the general public (admins I can do so If I am breaking any rules etc) It truly does display, IMO, the problem with the country/s dumbing everything down for the lowest common denominator of person how could any sane person feel that this would fix a bonnet issue such that it was safe to drive, even if only temporary.....
  4. very true Jim often, if you let the VR warm up n the drive for a few mins the blowers are warm before starting the journey :) plus, though the leather can be hot in summer a toasty warm bum & back are very welcome from the heated seats on cold days
  5. I tend to switch between the VR & the 1.8 16v throughout the week at present.....often deliberating which one to take as I eat my brekky in the kitchen lol both of mine are very different beasts & I like driving both of them however, despite the VR being much firmer due to the KWV1's (the valver is still on standard suspension & old ones at that lol) I find the VR is much less work. in that I mean in the VR you rarely need to change gear as it will happily sit at 20-30mph in 5th & not give a the slightest grumble when a little power is applied the valver requires quite a few more gear changes I have a 14 mile journey to work which is mostly 30-60mph country lanes & very often can see around 34mpg on the MFA in the VR. I am unsure what the valver MFA reports as sometimes it definitely doesn't report correctly, 99.9mpg I don't think so ;) LOL I do know some people prefer the smaller lumps as they say it gives a more responsive drive but to be honest I don't share that view as my VR has an awesome level of response to any steering input, it is superbly agile around the twisty's & gets the power down very well indeed maybe if I got the valver to a similar state as the VR that view may change but the sound the VR produces will always win lol
  6. sounds about right mine made 209.8bhp with the 263's & BMC im tempted to get it done again now ive got the 2.5" SS with hi flow CAT but it would be a fair few £'s for not many more horses
  7. quite right delfinis & well spotted
  8. welcome - looks very nice there are a few white rado's popping up lately is yours a non sunroof version? cant quite tell from the 2nd pic?
  9. very tidy example I like your old G60 too - love a rado in white :D it makes me want to pull my finger out with refurb'ing my eyebrow spoiler too - thanks lol
  10. ha ha ha yeah it kinda makes sense lol I guess if you cant find a creamier product but still think the scuffmaster is a perfect colour match then a 250ml bottle of dye is very well priced & would allow you to do all of both front seats......IE open & go for it lol EDIT: did you buy their kit form which only has a tiny bottle of dye? FYI im going to try & make my 250ml bottle stretch to do the rears of both front seats as well as the front facing panels.
  11. easypops - glyptone sell a 'toner' product which is designed to be used with their scuffmaster dye so as to get a better colour match if required ive copied this off their site for you.... "By adding tiny amounts of a toner, you can tint the main colour to allow for this fading/discolouring." taken from http://www.liquidleather.com/scuffs.htm I hope that helps EDIT: or alternatively I was told by the glyptone technician, when I visited them in person, that a 250ml bottle of scuffmaster dye would be enough to refurb all of the front facing parts of both front seats - thus you could not worry about the fade & restore them back to original colour Plus, from the experience of recently refurbing a steering wheel as a practice, I followed the instructions & put the first coat of dye on neat & then for the 2nd & 3rd coats I diluted the dye with a little water (I think the ratio is shown on the bottle) which really did enable me to apply it very sparingly with excellent coverage
  12. i bet you were m8 good job yours doesn't have one of those carbonio air intakes, that would have been disaster
  13. Hi Dave I have just seen your classified ad, sad times to hear you are moving on :( once the rado is gone do you have any thoughts on continuing the supply of your excellent upgrades?
  14. ha ha i just copy & paste an old reply about the pics Neale lol funny how that question pops up so often though
  15. whoa!! how the hell did you not cut out!?
  16. tidy - though strictly it should be a m8 walking alongside you that says it lol yes m8 the original 12v VR sounds awesome! something i hear the 24v version loses what air intake have you got? i can thoroughly recommend a BMC :D if you want to hear how they sound with a BMC & 2.5 straight through stainless exhaust have a peek on my build thread here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR-amp-return-of-the-valver-VR-steering-wheel-refurb/page7 regarding pictures.... i find easiest way is to... click 'go advanced' button at bottom right hand side by the 'post quick reply' button then you can use the 'manage attachments' button to add files it opens a new small window click browse, navigate to chosen file & click ok, then click upload i also find it useful to resize the images before uploading as often the raw iphone photo for example is too large a file if you download & install windows image resizer (if you are on windows not MAC) it is as easy as right clicking the phot you want to resize, click 'resize' & then choose 'medium' when the image resizer asks
  17. my VR is lowered, such that there is a 2 finger gap between top of tire & the wheel arch it has a 2.5" longlife stainless & Paul who fitted it said it was a challenge due to the ride height - he did an awesome job though & ive not heard single knock from it there are a few pics of how it runs over the rear beam on my build thread here if you want a look http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?44751-g0ldf1ng3r-s-VR-amp-return-of-the-valver-VR-steering-wheel-refurb/page8 if it helps i wouldn't mind taking you a few more
