    Archery

ha ha try an air rifle that uses compressed air, no cocking required, & a silencer....that tends to not give them pesky magpies or pigeons any warning ;) lol
  8. those are the exact syptoms vince explained to me vag. he also explained that as i historically never go above 3000 rpm until oil temp reaches over 70 i had more than likely never experienced it cutting out, which i hadnt
  9. good find Rog! seems the valve/pump are not repairable though according to the below post 'erm, sorree it's a bill. Not repairable as its a bore wear problem and I'm not aware of an oversize plunger to fit once bored out.'
  10. i thought similar too Rog. however, after much discussion with vince i figured that if the oil pump was not providing a high enough flow rate then the pressure has to build somewhere until it finds a weak point & then escapes through such. in my case it resulted in forcing a leak past the brand new head gasket fitted on the 1st head rebuild ive just checked the image vince sent me on my phone & the needle is right on 9 bar (its not on my work PC else i would post it)
  11. Hi Rog I had an issue when my VR was having its head rebuild etc at stealth. Vince sent me pics to show that when cold my oil pressure was about 9 bar & was way too high. IIRC vince also said that when he was testing if he gave it a fair amount of throttle when cold the engine cut out he diagnosed it to be an issue with the sump oil pump not providing enough flow & a sign it was failing. in my case this resulted in springing/forcing an oil leak through the brand new head gasket they fitted a new sump oil pump (& new sump as mine was quite tatty) resolved the problem & it has not repeated again since the 2nd rebuild vince did hope that helps
  12. might be worth you editing those images baron, if need be, as you can see the street address ;)
  13. i have some spacers on my old valver which currently has 17" wheels on it - they are due to be removed as soon as i have the BBS replacements ready. I know they are 4*100 but im not sure on the thickness as i did not purchase or fit them are you in a hurry as i was planning on selling them once ive rebuilt my split rims?
  14. Thanks Kev. I am happy to report that after approx 4 months & 3000 ish miles the final 'revised' release bearing vince fitted is still giving zero issues i have no juddering & more importantly no annoying bl00dy chirping :D Jim - vince has a wealth of knowledge & vast experience of VR clutches not being right over the many years & im sure he wouldnt mind you chatting to him about it
  15. well noticed i checked mine & found the overhead images & the streetview images are different. overhead shows my old mk4 golf but if i go streetview to the gates at the front of the complex i can then zoom in & see my VR sitting in its spot :D the streetview cant be within the last couple of months though as they dont show my valver parked outside the gates - i wonder if google publish when they update
  16. I had an issue with both of the 1st two clutches stealth fitted after my head rebuild - they were both valeo boxed products but it was determined not all the parts contained were valeo manufactured parts the release bearings in the first 2 clutches fitted both chirped like crazy & were audible even with windows closed. the 2st clutch did produce a slight judder but it was only minimal. vince tested both my master & slave clutch cylinders, which were ok, & also made something custom so he could adjust the clutch pedal travel & reduced it by about 10mm the pedal travel fix was attempted as it was found that the chirping stopped once the pedal had been depressed by 10-15mm - this reduced the issue somewhat but only for a week or so after which it came back. long story short vince ended up getting a valeo rep in & it resulted in an apology from the rep as the release bearing was not valeo but one of their subsidiaries the rep organised a 'revised' valeo release bearing & once that was fitted i havent had any issues :) I too had thought about uprating the clutch or looking at another brand but when i discussed it with vince he assured me that from all his experience of fitting many many clutches to VR's valeo had proven to be the best for standard-ish n/a VR's
  17. good man!!! i brought my old valver back a couple of months ago & love seeing it on my drive every day :D
