VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread

I niggled about with the handbrake console cover on mine as they are a pain, make sure you have the srew in the behind the ash tray that helps alot as it holds it all together gives it alot more strength, also your plastic piece that clips on first on the 4 plastic nuts on the side of the carpet make sure there tight, also when you decide to test it make sure you dont pull the lower plastic piece up to much :nono: or you are back to sqaure one and have to restrip it to get the lugs to line back up to the plastic nuts! that should help :D -
so which one is the conditioner the Gtechniq G3 or the G4? hehe  , its looking sweet. Good luck with the dash!

yeah its a job for a garage, sometimes they can use a tool that molds to the locking wheel nut shape. But from what i have heard its always a nightmare job. so good luck 8) -
when i got a sparky to install an immobiliser ,he made sure it cut out the fuel pump. Also the wiring behind the fuse box was a big mess from a previous owner removing an old alarm ... so he was top notch and tidied it all up for me 8)

You cant beat a bit of barn space, my only prob was i had to get mine finished before it would be covered in grain! loving the amount of work your puttng into it! :D

Fantastic work 8) liking how your doing the spraying yourself, a lot of work involved. I know a bit about spraying and i know what it would take to do it by yourself in a garage espically to get to the level finish you want! At work we have painted the work vehicles after cutting sills and arches and rewelded them and painted them, I also learnt why you use a proper mask. My boss came in early to finish of one vehicle, safe to say he used a light dust mask by the time we saw him and he took his mask off his teeth were a funny weird kind off white form the paint :nono: keep up the good work.

Yeah the car covers seem to blow off or half blow off when your  prob best try and tie it mind you you might have better luck than myself!

It could be your pump thats not working for your power steering, so make sure its working i suppose you will be able to tell if you see the fluid moving in the reseroir Your headlights, not sure you could try start easyily with fuses , if not alot of people put uprated wiring systems into the cars to get better headlight power so be sure to check the wiring around the headlights, no doggy connections. There is a light that come s on on the headlight switch itself a small LED so make sure it comes on when the switch is pressed, this should tell you your switch is working! The relays are on the back of the headlight switch incase you go looking

Hey needing a little help, the existing steering rack seals were shot as fluid was leaking so in the rebuild I sourced a second hand rack, was told the rack would fit the car as it does ,once I had changed the splines form the inside the rack that connect onto the steering coloumn as they were differently splined. The prob was when I built the car up the wheels, they would no where near track up straight. Checked the lengths of the track rods and they were different, the second hand rack arms were longer by say 50mm. So i ordered not through VW (cost a bomb) but at Dingbro new track arms and they arrived and yet still longer than what originally came off? But the track arms were the same length as the track arms off the second hand rack? Any info would be so much help! Thanks -
Nice to see you took a proper approach at the rust ! :D liking the vents!

I have a bird scarer on the farm hardly been used! oh wait I think you might not sleep or the neighbours ten blocks away..... BANG  Always the scare crow? Also aparently birds cant pass wind so if you lay out some bicarbonate of soda then if they eat it then they should explode... There is one thing we have used in the sheds its a fake bird of prey such as an eagle, hang it by wire from the ceiling and the wind moves it around a bit, sometimes it scares them off. Lots of helpfull ideas for you! 8) -
