After 5k he had to re do his head gasket then got it skimmed, for the £35 it cost him for the skim its well worth it.

  13. hmmm sounds like, i dare not say it but you could break it and sell it for spares . But if you could borrow an ABS unit of someone or get one out of a scrappy just to see if you can find out swapping it might cure your abs faults but then all your bushing still need done.hmm depends on what you want to spend if anything at all or just keep it on the cheap, keeping it on the cheap would be doing alot of the work yourself. Its alot of money on the ABS unit and it might not cure it.
  14. did you find out why it is cat c?
  15. haha safe to say the engine came like that!I am cleaning the engine while it is out with Jizer, you could try that. Thanks for the kind words!
  16. Hey i have had a corrado for just shy of a year as I bought it on my birthday, for my VAG history well I had a polo if I showed picture of that I would be thrown of the forum. You could go round any corner at 5 mph and the rear FREE tyres would be screaming at you  was to be a feild car until someone tried to hot wire it for some reason, o well lucky the battery was dead. Since I have had it, not alot has been done until recently oh yeah it a g plate 1.8 119000, couldnt resist having one after spotting a couple of them they look so good. Immobiliser fitted profeesionally, then he wondered why the fuse box was looking a bit funny, as it was upside down. So the Electrician sorted that all out. Timing belt change Water pump replaced. Central locking pump replaced Bump strips taken off Uprated headlight loom ETKA Corrado.pdfC Front end no plate.jpg[/attachment:233n58sb] Corrado94.pdfC Front end no plate.jpg[/attachment:233n58sb] Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdfPICT1389.JPG[/attachment:233n58sb] Book1.pdfPICT1386.JPG[/attachment:233n58sb] stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfPICT1317.JPG[/attachment:233n58sb] Recently the engine has been removed hopefully get some pictures of the removal, just planning on cleaning the bay up Re tapped all of the wiring loom with some proper tape New power Steering pipes Changed the power steering rack, got one of the forumn as VW wanted £950 for the rack on its ownits and they could not even guarantee it was the correct rack. For some reason? stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfrear end no plate new2.jpg[/attachment:233n58sb] Okay, i started to take things apart decided take the engine out to clean things up and change a couple of things eham sort of engine crane Corrado92.pdfPhoto0033.jpg[/attachment:233n58sb] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPhoto0035.jpg[/attachment:233n58sb] Okay so i got the subframe off I work as a Blacksmith so i blasted everything at work, we have a heavy grit not sand blaster so I took my time and made sure there was no rust left on the pieces glad I blasted it myself as it took a while even with the heavy grit. climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPICT1429.JPG[/attachment:233n58sb] Then proceeded to Zinga the heck out of everything and then primer then under seal thew coats of each... PICT1459.JPG[/attachment:233n58sb] Re tapped the wiring loom and have some rusty bits to sort out started on the battery tray just made a plate up at work, work in progress and the lucky sill someone could not operate a jack properly!

  18. hey man she is looking good, giving her lots of attention. For the spoiler not working, i know you said you had tried swapping the clocks to try and get the MFA working but did you try the the spoiler once you had the swapped the clocks over? I found the spoiler came to life once I had swapped the clocks over in mine.
  19. oh what, unlucky I stay in Edinburgh and i certainly know where niddrie is, i had a 97 plate polo that looked a like a wreck and was sitting in one of my fields and well out of sight, as it was to be used as a field car when there was enough space. Would you guess someone bricked the window and tried to hot wire a 1.0 polo, they had tried the locks and obvously gave up on that idea and used a brick. I did have the dash out at that point but yeah they found the alarm it had, as i found cut out and on the passenger seat. Suppose i had the last laugh when the battery was so dead so they would have been lucky if the interior light would have even come on hehe I stay near Edinburgh airport
  20. Hey the car looks great, your red block looks awesome especially with the blue bodywork, i was wondering when you mention the "guide" for the ABF block conversion for the KR 1.8, could you point me towards the guide. Thanks Calum
  21. it definitely sounds like your piston in your calliper it is not backing off, happened to me apart from mine was smooking hot  yeah so i would try pushing the piston back and grease up under the seal if you can keep contining to do this, better if you had someone with you so they could press the peddle and you would be able to see the piston push out and more importantly retracting slightly. I just replaced a calliper on the front of my focus due to this as it has happened in the past and has occurred again, always worth trying the free option :)
  22. nice one glad to hear she is under some shelter :D
  23. alrighty thanks alot for the intel :salute: i will try and source a 2.0 block and do the job properly :D thanks again, Calum
