1. Thanks guys! I'll have a look at those Febi mounts! :)
2. I've been talking to a friend of mine who owns a garage. He has told me if i'm spending serious money on suspension then i relay should replace everything from track rod ends to wishbone rubbers and top mounts. I'm on a slightly limited budget so was wondering what i actually need to fit any new coil-overs I buy! I know that my front top mounts are a little ****ed but what else do i have to replace to fit any coilovers i may buy?
3. great could you take it off the car and get a picture for me please. I'm especially interested in the elbow at the top of the rad if you could get a close up but a nice shot of the front would also be helpful thanks.
4. Why the question mark? if your selling the rad and it's in good nick I could give you £60 for it plus postage
5. drive it up to Dundee mate... I'll not buy it off you but you can just leave it with me if you like. I'll take GOOD care of it  but seriously, a council lock up to just stick it in is usually between £35-45 (depending on the council and size of lock-up) but they tend to be dank and old. I'd get a good car cover and mull it over for a while. At least that way it wont be getting wet while you wait. :thumbleft:
6. Are you braking the whole car mate or just the parts listed? I could do with the radiator if it's going.
7. I'm trying to find some top mounts for the front and rear suspension. Can anyone tell me if these here come in pairs? http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Corrado_1.8_1991/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/suspension-mounting/?669440320&1&11a642d93aae5842027819a1cc0299834e7d5f7c&MTGK Also if that is per mount then they seem expensive, ideas on getting good ones for less? tah!
8. Crivens! what do you think we did?, we ate it laddy.... No Scott would ever leave cake loose aboot the hoose!
9. http://www.screwfix.com/p/blue-tarpaulin-5-25-x-6-65m/95656 I'd like to see the water and wind get through that! :D
10. You are being a cheeky monkey today arn't you! The halfords cover had straps but although the straps where strong enough the fabric they were stitched to was not! I found fragments of cover attached to various parts of my car ripped clean off the cover :shocked!:
11. Just to highlight the problem, found out that Dundee recorded wind speeds of 80+mph and I happen to live on a hill with no surrounding trees. Driving home i saw a wheely bin flying down the road and it over took me doing 30mph! sketchy! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-13499503 Anywho, not surprisingly I found the car cover missing and now I'm going to replace it. For the time being, I was wondering If I could use a tarpaulin? Baring in mind my paint isn't in the greatest condition anyway, I just need to keep the water off it until I can get a weekend to fix her up!
12. hi ya! I'll take the braided g60 oil supply pipe for £3 please :)
13. Just a short one. Got back from my sisters wedding this afternoon to find my car cover had blown away in the wind. It was a halfords high quality one and tbh, I saw it coming... It's ripped on numerous occasions and hasn't done a great job of keeping the worst off my car. It's only lasted a year as well... For £120 i would have expected more. Anywho, if anyone has any experience with car covers then I would appreciate the advice. Edit: My sister looked amazing btw... Very nice wedding all-round
14. WHATSSS! thats different! I could afford that!
15. Thats £2000 for just the front seats.... And then shipping from Germany. Seems expensive...
16. common Sam, i thought this was all covered in your "rally" lights post the other day? External relay from kurl2y and an IP55 or higher rated enclosure from screwfix (about £5) if you dont like the idea of making your own internal loom. I wouldn't be able to wire in what kev posted so i understand the appeal of a external loom. Theres no such thing as a custom enclosure btw, you just use a standard one. Even the DG enclosure was just a standard red one with a fancy sticker on it... you just need to make sure the one you buy is big enough to house the electrics in and make sure whoever makes your loom for you that they use grommets to seal the box. As for the oem connectors according to Kurl2y they pop up every now and then from vw. They must run them off in batches. He sometimes goes a year without having them and then gets 5 sets at once, but they never seem to hang around. I just cut the plugs off my existing loom and replaced the existing with spade connectors (encase I want to later remove the loom) but if you dont want to do that then just find a car thats getting scrapped and buy the head light loom for £10, they're never expensive because they're so crap...
17. If you don't have the time Yan I don't mind sorting this out for you? I could certainly do with replacement drivers side foam myself!
18. Good read! I'd rather have the performance of the R with the nostalgia of the Storm... I LOVE the interior of the old Mk1 Rocco, like a fighter cockpit :D
19. do you mean the 90 degree plastic elbow on the top of the rad? I'll ask when I buy it... wont be till after my sisters wedding thou (next week maybe?) ---------- Post added at 11:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:43 AM ---------- although the i don't think they are obsolete... 535121647 £6 according to VAGcat
20. One more thing... If the rad can't be salvaged or if it will cost more than £50 to fix then this is the radiator for me http://www.vwcarpartsuk.co.uk/p2806397/VW-CORRADO-1.8-G60-Petrol-1988-1993-Radiator-engine-cooling/product_info.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=Make-Model-Product I've done my research and this rad is made by AVA cooling down south who make pattern parts for loads of different cars. You'll only get a better one if you buy from VW but that's £300
21. Little update: (sorry no pics) Dismantled the old radiator the other day. The fan cowling was touching the fan blades and stopping the motor from turning the fan... a light tickle with a hammer freed up the fan though and After testing with a spare battery I can tell you the motor is still in good nick! Whey! :D Soooo, here is what my car should have.... And what I'm missing is item 13 (plastic cover) and I'll need a new fan cowling and nuts to fit it. OOOoo and a radiator... need that too, well  I THINK i do... I took it off and tbh, the radiator looks good. I mean, it's not brand new but it looks in good nick. I think the leak is coming from the plastic trim on the radiator and not the actual rad itself. I may get it tested by a specialist before I give up on it. Advice on servicing radiators would be welcome! Shopping list: Fan cowl - 535121205A 4 x m6 hexagon nut, shouldered - N 90175203 4 x hexagon head panel screw - N 90310301 Plastic rad cover - 535121343B 2 x Insert nut for cover - 811807577C 2 x screw for cover - N 0139383 Metal clip for cover - 191121093C I do hope I can remember where all these various screws go too! I have about 3 tubs with loads of various screws and bolts and i aint got a f'in clue where they all go! :bonk:
22. I'm surprised he hasn't popped a heat shield in there tbh... Looks like about 1inch clearance!
23. Don't count your chickens yet monkey, you now have a degree under you belt and 3 years experience AND you still may get a 2:1 or higher! Chin up! It's party time now! :D
