Didn't get a chance to work Saturday as was raining quite heavy in Dundee but did get a shot on Sunday to remove the subframe and try to remove the old power steering rack. The second hand rack I have is in good nick but needed a clean, so I got on with that and set up the engine hoist I borrowed off my mate Sambo (on SVAG, thanks Sam!) [ATTACH=CONFIG]47325[/ATTACH] Got the engine up and got the subframe off leaving the old rack suspended by the rose joint on the steering column [ATTACH=CONFIG]47326[/ATTACH] Also chose this moment to change the ARB bushes and give the anti roll bar itself a good clean. I Also gave the subframe a de grease and popped some hamerite on the ruty bits. [ATTACH=CONFIG]47327[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]47328[/ATTACH] Cleaning ARB Old ARB bushes I then tried to remove the power steering rack. Now, the rack I have was from an old 16v and came with all of the pipes. However, when it was removed from the 16v they cut the pipe from the pump for some reason, maybe couldn't get it off... Either way I NEEDED to keep that pipe from my rack... guess what i did... [ATTACH=CONFIG]47329[/ATTACH] Whoops!.... Soo I've couldn't fit the new rack! I don't have a replacement pipe and time with this borrowed hoist is fast running out. And to further infuriate me a went to lean on the intake manifold and did this to a pressure pipe... dunno man, I need it for this weekend coming as i wont have this engine hoist forever. Will ask them how quickly they can get it to me. Was leaning on the intake manifold and slipped :lol: So it is a nipple that screws in then? Where can iget a replacement??

I snapped the nipple that connects the pressure hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the throttle body. Can this be fixed? It's a g60 throttle body btw. [ATTACH]47324[/ATTACH] It looks like it's a little screwed in nipple but I'm not sure, could be forged into the throttle body :(

I'm after the high pressure pipe that goes from the power steering rack, round the gearbox into the power steering pump. It's the longest pipe and connects directly to the rack. In good condition please!

Hmm nice... Didn't need it in the end though as the day was nice and dry. However, misfortune struck in other ways, will update thread tomorrow thou as I'm knackered...

Rain it did. Didn't even get to assemble my engine hoist! Will have to hope tomorrow is better weather wise.

Today is removing engine to replace power steering rack... Wish me luck!! Looks like it might rain too...

Due to the 45 degree angle I ALWAYS smack a screwdriver through it to get it off... So i tend to get oil on everything! :lol:

don't worry david! I'm not expecting 220mph!!! lol I may well get up too 150+ though in a straight and when I've got my g60 working better is time to up the power. Then we might get a little more out of her!

Dunno, wasn't that long ago I had someone look at it. Maybe a year, and they didn't say anything about it being this bad... Oh well! It's out now! nothing but scrap metal! Got bored at work and decided to check out what this ASD box will do to me gear ratio...
