1. Maybe give bleeding one more go.... This would be the 6th time the systems been bled though... It's becoming irritating. The fluid coming out it very clean though, only a week old at the most!
2. OK... This is really getting on my tits! This is what we did yesterday: ALSO The servo Kicks in when you turn the engine on (you can feel it after pumping the brakes) The noise he mentions above is like the sound of air being blown though a straw. Never heard of this before and am lost as to the cause other than MC but as mentioned above, that has now been changed AGAIN! it's defiantly not the cause. Every calliper has been clamped and checked and bled. The brake compensator was open during the bleeding. HELP
3. Ahh... that's the car! lol I assume you didn't win? Edit: or is it?? the boot doesn't make sense... or is it not the boot lid? http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Porsche_968_CS.jpg ---------- Post added at 04:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:46 PM ---------- nope... your right. I'm dumb...
4. The colour is of vital importance! It would have probably blown up by now if it was red... green cars are good, yellow warning, red dead. Tis a natural fact :smug:
5. what was the winning car in the end?
6. willow... hmmmm http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096446/
7. sounds like the emergency flasher relay maybe? Forgot which one that is thou....
8. wy 5 out of 10 then... that would ( I assume) mean OK... not crap, not amazing ---------- Post added at 01:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:35 PM ---------- The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - 8/10 The true story of Elle editor Jean-Dominique Bauby who suffers a stroke and has to live with an almost totally paralysed body; only his left eye isn't paralysed. The film follows the experiences of his life with his Diving bell prison and explores the opportunities that his butterfly imagination grants him. Such a description may make this movie sound lofty or self-important, but that simply isn't the case. This is a beautiful film... The characterisation of Bauby, expertly captured though his eyes while in hospital by French director Julian Schnabel (Basquiat, Before Night Falls) combined with an ecliptic musical score including Explosions in the sky and Velvet underground make this a truly epic film. It misses out on a 9 (or dare I assume a 10!) by being a little on the slow side, with sentimentality winning over slightly on content. Still, you'd be MAD to not invest in seeing this film. :thumbleft: ---------- Post added at 02:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ---------- A Town Called Panic - 9/10 I can't think of any reason not give this 10/10... just that I hope to one day see a perfect film? But then... I can't think of a funnier film that i have seen in the last 26 years of my life... I honestly can't. Instead of a plot summary (because frankly, the plot isn't the reason to see the film) I'll just give you what empire had to say about the film.... "Like Toy Story on absinthe" Need i say more.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY55bTlZJEE
9. I just saw you removed it! Was just clicking to view it as it disappeared! What is it you need done mate to get her going? whats the BIG things? I'm sure someone would give you a hand if you needed it. I would if you lived anywhere near me! lol
10. Dude! not so good!... You sure things can't be arranged for you to keep it? It's obvious that you don't want rid of it...
11. if the internal size of the pipe to the matrix is 19mm then you'll not get a 15mm Pipe to fit... will be to loose. if it's the external Dia. then maybe a 15mm will do (the other common sizes are 12mm then 22mm... no 17/18mm). I reckon a jubilee clip will work fine if you get it connected to a pipe of adequate size... just make sure it's a snug fit. Also, if your using copper i'd make sure the copper doesn't touch much. Will radiate quite a bit of heat compared to the rubber hose... maybe would go as far as to say use a insulating sleve over the top if you do go down that road.
12. God said unto Peter... "Come Forth and you shall win eternal Glory!" Peter came fifth and won a toaster....
13. Sounds like the person doing the anodising is a wally... Was it them that misplaced it? I'd kick up a stink for that...
14. Well I'm not!!! I've to learn soon though, i have a replacement roof to fit. ---------- Post added at 09:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 AM ---------- Not according to my mate Kris... he sold his after 5 mins of having it on. Couldn't get it to fit nicely.
15. that gell stuff looks the bee's knees! Will have to remember to get me some of that! I suppose it wont remove paint etc? just rust
16. Been improving my head light wiring loom last night. Kurly did a great job on the loom and did allot of extra stuff for nothing so top marks to him for sorting this out for me! :thumbleft: There was a few horror stories I heard however that made me want to water proof the loom I have, making it a little more reliable hopefully! Here is how it used to look Very good job considering the price but some niggling little details to work out to make me happy with it. First, the relays where in a IP65 rated enclosure I provided Kurly but the fuses where still left outside the box. Ideally I would have liked to have them in the same box but trying to rearrange the wiring now would require allot of work so i got a new small box for the fuses. Also, noticed a little movement in the cables coming from the base of the box and decided to fit a grommet to stop chafing and splashing water. So from this.... to this Was a bugger to fit and had to cut it to get it over the existing wiring but i think it was worth the effort.:geek: Next the fuses. new box... not IP rated but better than nothing. and again, all cables got grommets Also the fuse lid got a strip of self adhesive foam to stop the fuses moving around too much Then to finish off the enclosure got a coat of paint to make it less conspicuous... And that's it... I wish i could do more important things like fitting new suspension but with my sisters wedding and my other car needing fixing The C, as always will have to take a back seat.
17. no such thing mate... You need to either get a second hand sunroof and fit it yourself or get a VW repair kit for the sunroof and do it yourself. You could get a vw garage to do it but they would charge you a fortune and probably will not wont to fit second hand parts.....
18. I think that's what we're doing... it just pains me to see him go through so much DOT 4 with no results. bloody Golfs hey!
19. Dude, would only take you a day to do from start to finish... You sure you can't spear the hours? Would save you money... is the extra day you'll save giving it to a garage going to save you the same amount of money as you would spend doing it yourself? I doubt that day of is worth the extra cash... Shame about you having to sell it too. Can you not keep it at a relatives or somewhere? Or even sell it to a relative/friend until you return with the idea of buying it back?
20. Don't know where he got the Mc from... Maybe from MC Dangerous Dan and the no solids crew YO! :afro: I reckon the master cylinder is ok though... I saw it go in and it looked ok. Will mention this to him. Could it be a loose caliper? He seems to think he can hear a knocking sound when he uses the brakes... he fitted a new front caliper to the drivers side wheel. if he ddidn't tighten this up properly could this be the cause? Also, how does one check the servo's seals without removing it?
21. Hi there... A little help for my pal with his 16v mk 2 golf. The brake pedal refuses to stiffen up and is soft, keeping him from getting an MOT. The car has no ABS. The brakes have been bled 3-4 times now and there is no air in the system, he even took it to a garage to get pressure bled but no joy. The brakes pump up ok and if you do so with the engine off the get stiff and when you turn the key get soft again so the servo is kicking in. The MOT centre suggested that we check each calliper for leaks but the brake fluid doesn't drop over time and there is no visible signs of brake fluid leaking ANYWHERE... Could the seals of the servo be going? The master cylinder is almost new but maybe the slave cylinder seals are letting a little fluid past them maybe? Your input would be most appreciated! :bonk:
