1. Nice work Yan, you really are cracking on with this one.... the weather is helping mind. Supprised you don't like the copper replacement pipes? They are more than strong enough for the brake lines (lbs/sq inch) and they don't rust? I just make sure they get a good squirt of waxol or something to protect from stone chips. I need to replace the ones on mine shortly and i'm gunna opt for copper I think (those Americans can't stop me!)... However, I leant my flaring kit to someone and I they lost it... grrrr What kind of internal screws are you getting? I'm gunna have to order some soon for myself and with ETKA online playing up I'm unsure what i need! :bonk: BTW... I hope the work on this one isn't distracting you from the 16v? :D
2. Do they now! lol I ask because I managed to get one of a mate for giving him a hand with fixing his Golf. I'll swap them over tonight and take them for a wiper spin! :D
3. Hey Wullie, Does this mean if i replace my current relay with a 99 i'll be able to do this?? (position 8 on the internal relay board?)
4. Black g60 in dundee There is also a vr6 somewhere in dundee and a red 16v.... And I keep seeing a lady driving an early 16v round cupar in fife as well... but i dobt somehow that she is on the forum... :D
5. Hmm, in that case i might even be tempted! I sure am, so long as my job stays secure i should be getting an MOT in the next month or so. Since my mortgage switched to a tracker i've been allot better off! This month is suspension and radiator i think. Once they are on she'll be ok to drive to a garage for an MOT and I'll let them fix the engine/gear box leak. I'd have ago myself but there's only so much you can do on a drive with a 1:10 gradient...
6. DG autotech have a very good reputation in the corrado world, never been there myself but i've seen their work on my mates VR, Yan's 16v and butterfly's concourse VR. They do fine work! They also just started offering a re-map for G60's but i think you need to by a new ecu... The one that VW gave the G60 is pretty basic. :)
7. A few bit's left over from past projects, all the following trim was taken from an early grey interior Ash tray - £4 Posted Gear stick surround (no karman badge) - SOLD Grey passenger foot well trim - £4 Posted Grey Drivers side foot well trim - £5 Posted Early Style steering wheel (needs new leather ideally) - free for collection or £5 posted I also have a indicator stalk here a MFA Stalk here and a cigarette lighter here SOLD Questions? please feel free to ask! :thumbleft:
8. And here is the interior back in the car. The new things are New late style oem steering wheel New steering wheel cowling New centre console and OEM hand brake gaiter New hand brake New clutch foot rest New parcel shelf (not in the pics but now in the car) New MFA/wiper stalk New ignition coil The rest has all now been cleaned and is pretty mush like new. Very happy with the results in general. The drivers seat needs the bolster repaired and the passenger side carpet has some really nasty stains that not even my pot of Swarfega is shifting... but that's under the seat so I gave up on them in the end! That's it for today, check out this space soon for some tasty mods that i might be getting in the coming weeks. :)
9. This weekend has been quite productive in it's way... I didn't get to use the sand blaster but I did get to finally finish cleaning the carpets in the car as the sun came out Saturday :) The following pictures are from the Saturday morning doing the cleaning to Sunday morning where I collected the internal trim ready to put back in the car.
10. I might have one. £20 posted if i do? Edit: Just checked and i do have one spare from a 91 g60 (early) should be the same for all early interiors. let me know if thats ok.
11. Well if you want that old handle for spare bits let me know :)
12. Sounds like that should work to me... But what broke on your handle? if it's the knocker then get crazy Daves kit form here. Worth it's weight in gold! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?10426-Door-handle-repair-kit..........THEY-ARE-NOW-AVAILABLE ---------- Post added at 12:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 PM ---------- If it's not the knocker that's busted then I could send you an early handle with the wiring for the central locking for the price of postage btw... I have a few old broken ones kicking about somewhere, you would just need to fit a new knocker and maybe the key barrel. :)
13. no... but his gear box will still have a longer reverse gear than your G60. He's being silly
14. I did say "ragged it beyond the speed limit" I've never screamed the car in to a bend at 90+ hoping like hell the tires stick.... I leave that for the track. I have however been driven by me dad at 130mph down a few roads in his e-type, but that wasn't me! I have pushed the car though... but never round the houses and never over 70. I don't count 80mph in a straight line racing.... Thats just motorway driving.
15. I've never ragged the car beyond the speed limit but have indeed been silly in my youth and I'm sure your right about the forum. Still, street racing conjures up images of need for speed and kids outside a McDonalds car park. I'd change the title of the thread i think. How about taking the misses and the C on one final road trip to somewhere like the isle of man? No speed limit there i hear and just endless miles of little B roads to put your foot into... ;)
16. Tosh! Get your head out of the street racing vibe buddy... unless you wont to end up wrecking you car and others lives. Your not Initial D.... There's Mallory Park Circuit in Leicester that i'm sure will have an open day or Hot Hatch Day, and as above chatting up someone who owns a concrete/tarmac strip helps. If you get enough people together you could always approach a chap with an airstrip?
17. I'm getting it galvanised after spraying. I tried a local firm in perth and they gave me the finger... I lost interest with private companies after that. If you know a good firm in fife or Tayside then I'm all ears but if not then I'll struggle on with this small one I've got...
18. Just saw this, well done mate, nice find! regardless of the condition £1000 for a VR6 with only minor things for an MOT sounds to me to be a bargain. Look forward to the pictures :)
19. does anyone know the part numbers for the 55 ltr tank straps? I've tried to look on VAG CAT but I've had no luck
20. I hear ya pal... I've been looking for a garage for months. :(
21. For the kind of money your talking about just go out and get a small compressor and air gun... Lidle will be selling a compressor for £80 in April and there is this in maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/17-piece-air-impact-gun-and-sockets-222629?c=froogle&u=222629&t=module Sofor a little more... you can get lots more stuff. Of course if your low on space and cash then forget I said anything. :)
22. Will do, am getting them at the end of the month
