  7. Nothing... The steering changes by the same amount if I accelerate hard or softly. I'm going to leave the car until the weekend then get under the front wheels... I want to check the subframe.
  8. Not had the car off the ground since i noticed this but I did give both front wheels a shake.. no visible sign of wobble.... I'd rather not take it back to the garage that did the tracking arm though as they ripped me off... £200 and I bought the parts! :bonk:
  9. OK chaps... a bit of a dodgy development... not really wanting to drive the car until i have diagnosed this, it feels like the cars wheel is loose. basically when I'm driving along the car pulls slightly to the left when braking... and slightly to the right when accelerating. I't's a noticeable difference that feels like torque steer but happens when you just accelerate slowly. The car has recently had a little accident where the drivers side front wheel hit the kerb at speed. This as far as I can tell cracked my alloy, bent my tracking arm and gave me a puncture. This has now all been fixed but this problem seems to have occurred after I got the tracking arm swapped over. The car has prior to this been given a new wishbones, rubbers, anti roll bar and suspension (including mounts) Soooo... could this be tracking related or camber related? What else should I be checking? The last time this happened to me my subframe fell off so I'd like to know what to check before I start driving the car about
  10. ahh bums... I'm torn between not wanting to see another g60 go to waste and really wanting those samco hoses and throttle body... :( oh well... needs must! :vamp: "moo hahaha!" would you take £35 for the throttle body?
  11. OK chaps, been in touch with the company. The price of the materials hasn't changed much but his price has gone up a wee bit... With me having to send off a "former" in the form of a second hand window mech for them to size up the rollers as well as their increased labour cost, VAT etc it's looking like £2.90 a roller (delivered) I hope this is ok? If we get more ppl during the time it takes to collect the money then it shouldn't pose a problem to add folk on so please speak up if you need a set. Otherwise keep your ears open for the PM with payment details. :thumbleft:
  12. just use his jag as the daily while the precious corrado is laid up
  13. I've I had to do this to my car over the past 1-2 years, The car didn't like it but that's only because i don't have a garage. If you have a garage however then there is a few simple things that will ensure your car could sit up for years with no ill effects. Make sure the garage is dry and well ventilated.... A sealed garage with no ventilation may cause condensation. Clean your car, get it as clean as possible and then polish her up. Make sure the cills and wheel arches are clean Perform and oil and filter change. park the car up in the garage when she's dry and get her off the wheels. Leave the wheels off while your storing as if you leave the car on the wheels without moving the car you can damage the tyres. Make sure the petrol tank is nearly empty. You could drain the tank but it's not that important... just make sure the cars not full of fuel. Over time petrol looses it's punch and becomes less eager to ignite, after a year or so the car might not be able to burn the fuel in the tank. Disconnect the battery and get it out onto a trickle charger. A good trickle charger shouldn't over charge the battery which is important because an over charged battery gives off oxygen and Hydrogen gas... If it's a sealed battery this can build up and go BANG. Spray all untreated metal parts with oil (WD40 would do...) to prevent rust. This includes brake disks and suspension. Leave the hand brake off... Leave the car windows open slightly... again this prevents condensation forming in the car. slacken all the non essential belts (power steering, alternator etc.) Oil you car locks in the doors and boot Cover the car with a breathable car cover. That should be you for a few years then.... Just remember take your time starting her again... Kev was right. Cars don't like stop/start operation, the oil only works after a few miles of driving so starting her up could do more harm than good. If you want to start the car up after more than a month or so I would remove the spark plugs and disconnect the fuel system and then hand turn the engine (socket on the cam pulley) for a few minuets. Then reconnect everything and check the fluid levels before plugging in a battery. good luck!
  14. Alright treacle! I never thought I'd see you on here again! The Motor is ok... Got loads of things still to do but at least she drives about now. Hows yours? You still thinking of getting rid?
  15. Chuffed mate! I know the feeling all to well of leaving the house in the C after so long off the road. I hope she goes through ok! Good luck! :D
  16. Yeah, I read your thread... Bums mate. Hope this weekend goes ok for you.
  17. Indeed you can, shall be doing that this weekend ;)
  18. A little old hat now but made popular again when it was featured on the advert for the new amazon Kindle... Nice work if you ask me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Eks4gB9tbE (BTW the bit off the advert is about 1:25 seconds in... )
  19. Realistically guys... who wants another meet this year? The idea seems to have slowly died....
  20. OK we have 316 rollers... I'll make the call to the company. With only just 300 units though it may be more than £2.75p per roller.... I'll let you all know the unit price when I here back from the company.
  21. Well I had a look over the car. That 8v belt did the trick on the power steering. Just helped because I think the bracket the PAS pump sits on is slightly bent, it's tightened up nice now and the power steering is working a treat. As for the lack of power... I tightened up the alternator... the drive belt from the pulley looks fine and nice and tight so i think it's probably my charger... I'm going to just try and drive the car less until I get the money to service it.
  22. Didn't leave the indicators on did you? Or check that you don't have anything like a external after Market head light wiring loom.
