  1. Anyone fancy getting some more done. Rog.
  2. Is there a forum sticker available? Maybe given to those that donate or something? Rog.
  3. Have you tried Adrian Flux, they were the cheapest for me. Rog.
  4. Hi all, I've managed to pick up a B4 Passat glass sunroof (Many thanks to GlosterOx) and I'm hoping to fit it soon. However, the sunshade has a few marks on it, also my headlining is also dirty so I thought while I have it out I'll give it all a good clean. So, what's the best way to clean it? Anyone recommend a product to use on it etc? Many thanks Rog.
  5. No mate, I've only been there 3 and a half years, Valenta had gone by the time I started, it's all MTU now, 64 ltrs of German fun, V16 with quad turbos...lol.. Rog.
  6. I know a few of you on here are interested in engineering so I tought I would share this here. As some of you know I work in a rail maintenance depot, our main work is maintaining First Great Westerns HST fleet but we do on occasion do other stuff. So last night I noticed one of our shunters was in the shed, these are 08 class shunters and were built in the 50's, we have 3 in total and even though they are over 60 years old they still do Stirling service. It was in for some engine work so i thought I'd take a few pics. These have an 6 cylinder diesel engine, each cylinder is about 15.5 litres, has a 12" stroke and a 10" diameter. 08 Class in the shed. Engine, some of the heads removed. Top of cylinders, these are 10" across and are 15.5 ltrs each. Top of head. Push rods and rockers. Underside of head showing valves Top of head. A bit boring I know but i thought some of you may like it. Rog.
  7. Not sure mate, maybe worth having a google. Rog.
  8. Out of interest mate where abouts in the country do you live? Rog.
  9. Ah, the joys of Corrado ownership...lol Could be worse mate, I was pulling the engine out of mine after a few months of ownership, luckily the knocking from the bottom end drowned out most of the whining from the passenger seat...lol.. I think I might have a starter motor in my stash of spares, let me know if you need one. Rog.
  10. Feb 2010 mate, it's was a feature on 80's hot hatches that had been turbo charged, only 3 made it to the shoot, an Astra with a Calibra turbo engine, a G60 mk2 golf which had a 1.8 turbo fitted and my CRX which I turbo charged myself. Rog.
  11. Cheers for the heads up, I'll keep an eye out for it. BTW, slightly off topic, but my old Turbo charged CRX was once featured in Retro Cars...lol.. #justsaying... Rog.
  12. Sorry, I just assumed Jim had done his quote online. Rog.
  13. I'm sure there a simple reason to not getting a quote, I was just thinking that because it's a computer based quote as soon as it sees something different to the morn it's just binned the quite out... Just an idea. Rog.
  14. Jim, I wonder if it's because it's a 2nd car policy, I assume you have used your no claims on the Fiesta, as I understand it you can only use your NCB on one policy, have you tried to use it on the Raddo and its maybe refused you because of that. Rog.
  15. Afternoon chums, Here is a dilemma for you. I want a set of these for Stormy. http://www.spturbo.com/onlinestore/index.php/volkswagen/vr6/12-valve/cylinder-head-valvetrain-parts/12v-vr6-camshaft-set-263-street.html However the company charge a small fortune to ship to the UK... so.... I've got a few other options... we (the family) are actually in the States on holiday in July, I could maybe get a set delivered to my hotel and then simply stash them in our luggage.... I'm not of the legality of this and if I'm actually saving anything as I'll have to pay the excess baggage weight. The other option, I have a friend in Florida who I have got some CRX bits for in the past, I could ask him to have the cams delivered to his house and then ship them on to me, I could get him to devalue the package and state that they are 2nd hand parts, that hopefully should avoid the dreaded customs tax but yet again I'm sure of the legality and the shipping costs etc. Opinions and advice please friends. Rog.
  16. Just got off the phone to Vince... top bloke but can't really do us any discount unless we have ten or over and even then you are only looking at saving about 20 quid each. The dollar is quite strong atm so these have actually gone up a little, 263's are now £360, then add postage and VAT and you are looking at about £440 to your door. So, long and short of it... sorry guys, but unless we suddenly get some serious interest then this possible group buy is a non starter. Rog.

  18. Yes mate, I'm still on there, I'm one of the admin team although it's very quiet these days, are you another CRX convert? Lol
  19. Nightmare, does that mean that because my Storm has been mapped that it's no longer in warranty... Gutted.
  20. You can add new fobs to the toad alarm as long as you have the access pin. I highly rate the 606, fitted a few of these now and have never had a problem with them, when I find five spare minutes I'll be replacing my Clifford G4 with a 606... Bloody hate the Clifford. Rog.
  21. Evening chums, Following on from this thread...http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=90110 I thought I'd just start a quick 'interest' thread. Basically who would be interested in a set of Schimmel 263 cams... http://www.spturbo.com/onlinestore/index.php/volkswagen/vr6/12-valve/cylinder-head-valvetrain-parts/12v-vr6-camshaft-set-263-street.html These are a good fast road cam and can fitted using the OE valve springs etc, they will give gains fitted on their own but are best served with a remap. So, lets see how many are interested, I'll then contact Vince at Steath and see if he can possibly do us a bit of a deal, obviously the more we have the (hopefully) better deal we may get. I'll start the ball rolling... please add your names. 1. Rog.
  22. Good idea, maybe worth starting another tread to gauge interest, maybe then we can contact Vince with numbers and see what sort of deal he could possible do for us. Rog.
